After two history book seasons in 2019 and 2020, 2021 showed just how quickly things can turn, even for a dynamic player like Lamar Jackson. A boatload of injuries to the offense didn't help, nor did the first major injury of his career. Missing five games certainly hurt Jackson's bottom line stats, but it was a troublesome 16-13 touchdown to interception ratio that once again has the league questioning his ability to be an effective passer.
Despite what seems like continued league-wide disrespect and a very odd contract negotiation, I fully expect Jackson to bounce back and be one of fantasy's most explosive players in 2022. While his season-long stats took a nosedive, he still finished just outside the top-5 with a 24.7 points-per-game average, and has added some bulk to his slight frame. The added muscle should help absorb the hits he'll continue to take as a runner, something I don't envision slowing anytime soon. His running ability is what makes him special, and 150 carries should be a near guarantee. The loss of Hollywood Brown hurts the depth in the receiver room, and nixes a big downfield threat, but Brown was maddeningly inconsistent, and Bateman is a much more refined route runner with better hands. With his runners hopefully back healthy, Jackson shouldn't have to take on the burden of the entire offense again in 2022, allowing him to play a little more under control. Jackson has more chips on his shoulder than a bag of Lays, and makes for an easy QB1 with top-5 upside.

Huntley and Anthony Brown may both play for BAL Ravens could use two QBs against Bengals By: Mike Krueger | Sun Jan 15, 8:44 am

| | With Lamar Jackson sidelined, the Baltimore Ravens are preparing to go with an unusual strategy at quarterback at the start of the playoffs. The Ravens are planning to use both of their quarterbacks -- banged-up backup Tyler Huntley and undrafted rookie Anthony Brown -- in Sunday night's wild-card game against the Cincinnati Bengals, league sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter. (ESPN)
FFToday's Take: Huntley has been bothered by an injury to his throwing shoulder which could signal he will be used as the primary running quarterback over Anthony Brown. Officially, the Ravens have yet to name a starter and probably won't before kickoff. Both quarterbacks are off the fantasy radar given this situation.

| J.K. Dobbins will sit Week 18, BAL yet to name starting QB Anthony Brown could start at QB By: Mike Krueger | Sun Jan 8, 7:00 am

| | Ravens’ standout JK Dobbins will not play today vs. the Bengals and instead will begin focusing on next weekend’s wild-card game, per league source.
Since returning in Week 14, Dobbins leads all NFL running backs in rushing yards and yards per carry. Ravens are not expected to an announce their starting QB Sunday vs. the Bengals until pregame warmups. Lamar Jackson is out, QB Tyler Huntley is listed as questionable due to shoulder and wrist injuries, and Anthony Brown took first team reps in practice this week. (Adam Schefter on Twitter)
FFToday's Take: Dobbins isn't on the injury report so it's obvious the Ravens are willing to rest key players this week as they gear up for the playoffs. They've also yet to name a starting quarterback with Tyler Huntley dealing with shoulder and wrist and shoulder problems. Gus Edwards and Justice Hill should be the main running backs against the Bengals with Anthony Brown likely playing at QB.

| Tyler Huntley remains starting QB, Lamar remains sidelined Third-straight game with Lamar on the bench By: Mike Krueger | Thu Dec 22, 1:07 pm

| | Ravens’ QB Tyler Huntley is starting Saturday vs the Falcons, per HC John Harbaugh. No Lamar Jackson for a third straight game. (Ian Rapoport on Twitter)
FFToday's Take: The Ravens are sticking with Tyler Huntley at quarterback this week as Jackson still isn't ready to go due to a knee injury. Huntley has zero passing TDs and 1 rushing TD in three games since becoming the starter. The Ravens are facing the Browns this week in a game with 35.5 over/under.

| Lamar Jackson in limbo for Week 16 Missed last two games with knee injury By: Doug Orth | Mon Dec 19, 11:30 pm

| | John Harbaugh declined to say whether Ravens QB Lamar Jackson will return this week after missing two games with a knee injury.
Harbaugh said he is going to "climb behind the barricade" of not divulging injury information because of competitive reasons. (ESPN - Jamison Hensley)
FFToday's Take: The good news here is that Baltimore plays the Falcons early Saturday, so fantasy managers should have time (and the options) to pivot if necessary. The problem is that the Ravens' offense was just getting by with him healthy and has fallen flat without him. Atlanta hasn't played against many mobile quarterbacks this season. Justin Fields was the most recent one and he gouged the Falcons for 153 yards passing, 85 yards rushing and two total TDs in Week 11. That would be a reasonable expectation for Jackson if he can play. If he cannot go, Tyler Huntley will get another start.

| Lamar Jackson ruled out, Tyler Huntley off injury report Huntley out of concussion protocol By: Mike Krueger | Thu Dec 15, 2:40 pm

| | Ravens have ruled out QB Lamar Jackson for Saturday’s game vs. Cleveland; QB Tyler Huntley has cleared protocol and is off the injury report. (Adam Schefter on Twitter)
FFToday's Take: Head coach John Harbaugh declined to name a starter for this week's game against the Browns but all signs point towards Huntley getting the call. This will be the second game in a row with Lamar on the sidelines. Huntley was the QB28 last week against the Steelers.

| Lamar Jackson likely to miss time Suffered knee sprain in Week 13 By: Doug Orth | Mon Dec 5, 6:10 pm

| | Ravens’ HC John Harbaugh told reporters that QB Lamar Jackson will be “week to week” with his knee injury, with this week “being less likely.” (ESPN - Adam Schefter)
FFToday's Take: Harbaugh noted it was "not impossible" that Jackson could play in Week 14, but it seems likely that he will be ruled out. Jackson has been a serviceable QB1 since he set the fantasy world on fire over the first three weeks of the season. Tyler Huntley will get the nod in Week 14 against the Steelers and should be able to hold the fort down for Jackson's fantasy managers while he is sidelined.
