2023 Outlook
Depth Chart
After months (years?) of drama, Jackson finally got his "bag" this offseason, securing the financial windfall of a lifetime. Now the story for Jackson turns to the next chapter, as the Ravens have rebuilt the offense, forgoing the "exotic" run-based offense of Greg Roman, and instead turning to former Georgia and Tampa Bay Buc offensive coordinator Todd Monken's pass heavy scheme.

The Ravens seem intent on using Jackson's arm more than his legs, and it remains to be seen what that will look like. He hasn't always been the most efficient or effective passer, especially in the playoffs where things become magnified. He certainly won't have the lack of receiving talent excuse to lean on, as Baltimore spent major cash and draft capital signing Odell Beckham Jr. and adding Zay Flowers in the 1st round. Throw in 2021 1st round pick Rashod Bateman, and elite move tight end Mark Andrews, and Jackson will easily have the best weapons he's had since entering the NFL.

I do know that Jackson remains one of the most athletically gifted players to ever play quarterback, and the Ravens will make good on the attempt to lower the number of designed runs for him. Jackson might have the highest volatility of the top-5 quarterbacks as his range of outcomes spans "best fantasy player on the planet" to "looking up at Geno Smith". Look for Jackson to set career highs in pass attempts and career low in rush attempts. While his 2019 video game numbers remain legendary, his legs, and passing upside make him worth it.

Lamar Jackson uncertain to suit up in Week 18
No injury; Ravens clinched AFC top seed in Week 17
By: Doug Orth | Mon Jan 1, 9:30 pm

Baltimore Ravens
The Ravens clinched home-field advantage throughout the AFC playoffs with Sunday’s victory over the Dolphins. Ravens coach John Harbaugh said he has not decided whether quarterback Lamar Jackson, the MVP favorite, and other key starters will play Saturday against the Steelers. (PFT - Charean Williams)

FFToday's Take: There is precedent for what Harbaugh might do, but the safe (and smart) play for fantasy managers still playing in Week 18 is to prepare as if the Ravens will sit their starters for most - if not all - of the season finale with nothing to play for. Tyler Huntley will undoubtedly get the nod if Jackson sits and should be worth of a QB2 start in two-quarterback or superflex leagues.

Injury Keaton Mitchell suffers knee injury Sunday night
Will miss the rest of the season
By: Mike Krueger | Mon Dec 18, 12:11 am

Baltimore Ravens
Big-play running back Keaton Mitchell sustained a serious left knee injury in the fourth quarter and was carted off the field. "It looks like he won't be back for the rest of this season," Ravens coach John Harbaugh said. Baltimore will promote two-time Pro Bowl running back Melvin Gordon from the practice squad to fill Mitchell's spot on the 53-man roster, according to Harbaugh. (ESPN)

FFToday's Take: Mitchell was a key piece to the Ravens running game which will now lean on Lamar Jackson, Gus Edwards and Justice Hill. Edwards is likely to see the bulk of Mitchell's opportunities by will likely be a TD-dependent RB2 moving forward. The upcoming Ravens schedule includes @SF, MIA and PIT.
