2022 Outlook
Depth Chart
Edwards was yet another member of the Ravens backfield MASH unit last season, suffering his own torn ACL prior to Week 1. Fresh off signing a new contract, Edwards was locked into a significant portion of a backfield timeshare before the injury bug hit. It's hard to pinpoint exactly how rehab is going, but all the noise coming from the team sounds optimistic. With Dobbins, and newly signed Mike Davis, the Ravens and Edwards have the luxury of taking it slow with their backfield. While this is great news for their health and longevity, it makes gauging their fantasy value trickly. Edwards is slightly older (27) than Dobbins, and wasn't exactly home-run hitting explosive before the injury, so any loss of speed or explosion could be a problem. Edwards is going to get his fair share of chances, especially close to the endzone, so that should prop up his standalone value. Unfortunately, he offers a near zero in the passing game, so he's only a realistic option in standard leagues as a low end RB3, or strong handcuff for Dobbins.

News From The Past 90 Days
Injury Mark Andrews expected to play, Gus Edwards uncertain
Shoulder injury
By: Mike Krueger | Sat Nov 19, 10:00 pm

Baltimore Ravens
Ravens’ TE Mark Andrews, listed as questionable for Sunday due to shoulder and knee injuries, is expected to play vs. the Panthers. Running back Gus Edwards, who is listed as questionable due to hamstring and knee injuries, is expected to play, but it could be in a limited manner, sources told Schefter. (Adam Schefter on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: It seems like Andrews is good to go, but Gus is still uncertain. A conflicting report by Ian Rapoport this morning suggested that Edwards is likely to sit. We may see Kenyan Drake in more a lead back role with Edwards the 1B if he does avoid the Inactive list.

Injury Mark Andrews, Gus Edwards are gametime decisions
Both listed as Questionable
By: Mike Krueger | Fri Nov 18, 2:41 pm

Baltimore Ravens
John Harbaugh on whether Mark Andrews will play: "I think we’ll wait until Sunday to say for sure." Andrews "took quite a few reps" on Friday and RB Gus Edwards was limited. "I was planning on those guys being back but I don’t want to get ahead of myself yet," he said. (Jamison Hensley on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: The Ravens tight end missed Week 9 with a shoulder injury which allowed Isaiah Likely to take over the starting role. Andrews did get in a full practice on Friday. Edwards was limited all week which makes him more questionable than Andrews. We'll likely get more word on both of these players by early Sunday morning.

Injury Gus Edwards set to return in Week 11
Ravens on bye in Week 10
By: Doug Orth | Tue Nov 8, 9:40 pm

Baltimore Ravens
"(Gus Edwards) will be back (in Week 11), that's the plan," HC John Harbaugh said at his presser Tuesday, Nov. 8. (Ravens.com)

FFToday's Take: With the Ravens playing the early game in Week 8, getting no work in practice ahead in Week 9 and the team going on a bye in Week 10, Edwards should have ample time to get his hamstring right. Baltimore does not face another team with a winning record right now until Week 18. It means if Edwards returns to his Week 8 role as the early-down grinder, he should have plenty of positive game script the rest of the way. Edwards should be capable of low-end RB2/high-end flex value moving forward.

Injury Mark Andrews, Gus Edwards listed as Doubtful
Demarcus Robinson questionable
By: Mike Krueger | Sat Nov 5, 3:50 pm

Baltimore Ravens
Ravens RB Gus Edwards (hamstring) and TE Mark Andrews (knee/shoulder) both doubtful for MNF against Saints. With Rashod Bateman (foot) out and headed to IR, Ravens going to have to beat Saints without Edwards, Bateman and Andrews. WR Demarcus Robinson (groin) questionable, too. (Jeff Zrebiec on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: The Ravens will be struggling for skill position players on Monday night against the Saints. Rashod Bateman (foot) will be out as well leaving Devin Duvernay, James Proche and Isaiah Likely the favorites for pass catching duties. DeSean Jackson is expected to be called up from the practice squad. Likely becomes a viable streaming option at tight end.

Injury J.K. Dobbins out 4-6 weeks, knee surgery
Baltimore RB has played in 4 games this season
By: Mike Krueger | Fri Oct 21, 3:15 pm

Baltimore Ravens
Ravens’ standout RB J.K. Dobbins is expected to undergo arthroscopic knee surgery next week that would sideline him 4-6 weeks, per sources. (Adam Schefter on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: Head coach John Harbaugh stated last week that Dobbins' knee "tightned up" on him which led to Kenyan Drake taking over the bulk of the running back duties in Week 6. Justice Hill is also expected to be active and the team still has the option to make Gus Edwards active if they choose. Drake looks like the desirable fantasy play in Week 7 against the Browns.

Injury Dobbins still "week-to-week"
RB continues his journey back from severe knee injury
By: Doug Orth | Tue Sep 20, 11:50 pm

Baltimore Ravens
Harbaugh reiterated that J.K. Dobbins is "week-to-week." Wouldn't say whether he'll return Sunday. (The Athletic - Jeff Zrebiec)

FFToday's Take: We know from the fact that Dobbins' full participation in practice last week that he is close to a return. Unfortunately, it appears the team's optimism a couple of weeks ago may have been premature. It is beginning to appear as if Dobbins and Gus Edwards may be on similar schedules. Until then, fantasy managers probably need to avoid this backfield, which features Kenyan Drake, Mike Davis and Justice Hill at the moment.
