"The Tyreek Hill replacement" as many were calling him, Mecole Hardman had some seriously deep shoes to fill this season if Hill was to be suspended. With that rumor now being squashed, it's time for us to start viewing Hardman in a much more realistic way. This is a rookie who, at 5'10 and 187 lbs, is a near perfect twin to Hill. He actually ran a slightly faster 40-yard dash than Hill. The problem, of course, is that the team already has Hill - and Hill has already produced at an elite level.

Hardman, on the other hand, is coming fresh out of college where he really was not much of a producer. Hardman's best season came in his final collegiate season, as a junior, when he caught 35 passes for 543 yards and seven touchdowns. His sophomore season at Georgia saw him catch just 25 passes for 418 yards and four scores. Those numbers are great on a per-catch basis, but they're just not enough to give us any sort of confidence that he's going to be capable of stepping right onto an NFL field and giving us anything other than a wildly unpredictable stat line from week to week.

Hardman's ADP is obviously hurt the most by the news that Hill will not be suspended and he'll likely now be a late-round pick at best in most leagues. That's probably where he should be going in standard seasonal leagues, but he should still be considered an interesting possible first round pick in dynasty formats while also being a useful late-round best-ball wide receiver here in 2019.

Injury Sammy Watkins out for Week 7
Chiefs decimated with injuries
By: Mike Krueger | Wed Oct 16, 2:15 pm

Kansas City Chiefs
Chiefs ruled out Sammy Watkins, Kendall Fuller, Eric Fisher, Chris Jones and Andrew Wylie for Thursday night’s game in Denver. (Adam Schefter on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: The Chiefs have significant injuries on both sides of the ball which should lead to similar gameplan for the Broncos on Thursday night - run the ball. Expect Kansas City to lead with Tyreek Hill, Demarcus Robinson Byron Pringle and Mecole Hardman at wide receiver. Hill is the only trustworthy fantasy asset of the bunch.

Injury Tyreek Hill expected to play
Shoulder injury

Kansas City Chiefs
Chiefs’ WR Tyreek Hill feels good in pregame warmups and is now planning to play today, per source. Chiefs plus Hill. (Adam Schefter on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: Hill has been trending towards playing this week and it appears that will be the case. How much he plays is still uncertain but fantasy owners are free to start him this week. His return dings the fantasy value of Mecole Hardman and takes the shine off Byron Pringle as a DFS value play.

Injury Tyreek Hill, Damien Williams will practice Wed.
Key offensive pieces return for KC
By: Mike Krueger | Wed Oct 2, 12:45 pm

Kansas City Chiefs
Tyreek Hill and Damien Williams will practice today as Chiefs begin preparations for Sunday night's game against the Colts. (Adam Teicher on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: Andy Reid was evasive on how much the two would practice but it's a step in the right direction for the availability of both on Sunday night against the Colts. Hill's return would likely put a damper on the fantasy value rookie Mecole Hardman.

Injury Tyreek Hill expected to miss 4-6 weeks
No plan to put him on IR
By: Mike Krueger | Wed Sep 11, 7:45 am

Kansas City Chiefs
#Chiefs WR Tyreek Hill (sternoclavicular joint injury) is expected to miss 4-6 weeks, sources say. A positive sign: KC does not plan to put him on IR, as of now. He’ll need to be monitored in rehab, and how quickly it progresses will determine if it’s more or less than 6 weeks. (Ian Rapoport on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: We knew we were dealing with a multi-week injury with Hill but the good news is he won't land on IR which could cost him 8 weeks. With Hill out, Sammy Watkins and Travis Kelce will become the main targets for Patrick Mahomes. Mecole Hardman will see extra targets but it's hard to get excited about his fantasy prospects given his inexperience.

Injury Tyreek Hill expected to miss a few weeks
Collarbone injury
By: Mike Krueger | Sun Sep 8, 8:30 pm

Kansas City Chiefs
Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Tyreek Hill suffered a collarbone injury that will not require surgery but will cause him to "miss a few weeks," a source told ESPN's Adam Schefter on Sunday. Hill left the Chiefs-Jaguars game late in the first half after he was taken down and landed on by cornerback Jalen Ramsey. Hill was carted off and taken to Baptist Medical Center for treatment. (ESPN)

FFToday's Take: Hill might have a dodged a bullet here if he's only going to miss a few weeks... if "a few" means 2-3. Sammy Watkins (who posted 198 yards and 3 TDs) will be Mahomes' main target on the outside with Demarcus Robinson and perhaps more of Mecole Hardman mixed in with Hill out of the lineup.
