Although talent evaluation is subjective by nature, you'd be hard pressed not to include the Raiders in any discussion of the league's worst receiver rooms heading into 2025. Davante Adams is gone, having been traded to the Jets last October, leaving Meyers as the only receiver of any renown in Sin City. The veteran has some experience operating as a de facto No. 1 from his time in New England, and he is coming off his best season (87-1,027-4). Nonetheless, you're talking about a chain mover as opposed to a true difference maker.
Despite that, Meyers has two things going for him. First, he is the lone established threat on the outside, and when a risk-averse veteran like Smith is going to the air he's going to lean on players he can trust. Second, he's likely to see a lot of single coverage with defenses gearing up to stop the ground game and then looking to double Bowers in passing situations. Over the past four years, Meyers has averaged 77 receptions, 876 yards, and 5 TDs. That looks like a reasonable baseline for this year, which is enough to make Meyers a low-end WR3 or strong WR4 selection.

Raiders send Jakobi Meyers to the Jaguars
Las Vegas gets a 4th and 6th round pick

|  | ESPN sources: Raiders are trading WR Jakobi Meyers to the Jacksonville Jaguars in exchange for fourth- and sixth-round picks.
Multiple teams including the Steelers and Jaguars had shown interest in Meyers, who is scheduled to become a free agent after his contract expires this season. (Adam Schefter on X)
FFToday's Take: The Jags had 13 picks in the 2026 draft and have a need for a receiver given the injury to Travis Hunter and Brian Thomas Jr. suffering an ankle injury in Week 10. So, they swung a deal for Meyers who wanted out of Las Vegas. Given the state of the Jacksonville wide receiver room, it shouldn't take long for Meyers to see some action but it's difficult to get excited about his fantasy prospects. The Jaguars have upcoming games against @HOU, LAC and @ARI.

|  | Comeback no more: #Raiders WR Amari Cooper has informed the team that he no longer has the desire to play and intends to retire, per The Insiders.
Cooper had signed at the end of camp in a hopeful reunion with the team that drafted. Now, he's headed home from Las Vegas. (Ian Rapoport on X)
FFToday's Take: Cooper spent 10 seasons in the league and looked like he was going to play this season for the team that drafted him in 2015, but he's had a change of heart. It's fair to wonder how big of a role he would've had given he failed to have a big presence with the Bills last season. The Raiders will move forward with Jakobi Meyers, Dont'e Thornton Jr., Tre Tucker and Jack Bech as their top wideouts.
