2023 Outlook
Depth Chart
Dillon has been a strong fantasy asset since taking over the 1b role in this backfield in 2021. The Packers have been very consistent in his usage as his touch totals (221 and 214) and production have been near mirror images of each other the last two seasons. Better in standard leagues due to his short yardage touchdown potential and presence of Jones soaking up most of the backfield targets, Dillon is an elite FLEX and has great standalone value as well. He's one of the few backs in fantasy worth drafting as a borderline starter that has a direct line to elite usage if Jones were to suffer an injury.

Injury Aaron Jones dealing with knee injury
Carted off the field in Week 11
By: Doug Orth | Mon Nov 20, 7:30 pm

Green Bay Packers
Aaron Jones appears to have avoided long-term injury after he was carted to the locker room just before halftime, but it certainly doesn't look like he'll be available Thursday for the Thanksgiving clash in Detroit. Said coach Matt LaFleur after Sunday's game, “I don’t think it’s long-term. It certainly looked bad. I was really concerned. Just seeing it live, I didn’t see a replay or anything, but seeing it live, it did not look good. But he’s in good spirits in there, so hopefully it’s a short-term thing.” (Milwaukee Journal Sentinel)

FFToday's Take: The Packers also lost Emanuel Wilson on Sunday, leaving AJ Dillon as the only healthy back on the roster. Jones will almost certainly be ruled out on a short week and is a good bet to miss Week 13 as well. Assuming that is the case, Dillon will be poised to handle a feature-back workload against a Detroit defense that has done a good job of stuffing runners most of the year. As such, Dillon projects as a low-upside RB2 this week who will likely need to score a touchdown to be a good fantasy start.

Injury Aaron Jones still not 100 percent, hamstring injury
Packers "going to be smart with him"
By: Mike Krueger | Fri Oct 27, 3:01 pm

Green Bay Packers
Matt LaFleur on Aaron Jones, who has no injury designation for Sunday’s game: “We’re still gonna be smart with him. I don’t think he’s 100% by any stretch.” (Matt Schneidman on X)

FFToday's Take: Jones injured his hamstring Week 1 and has missed or been limited in every game since. It sounds like he'll be limited in Week 8 as well. Expect AJ Dillon to get at least 50-50 split with Jones if not more. Jones had 11 touches last week against the Broncos.

Injury Aaron Jones, Christian Watson inactive for Green Bay

Green Bay Packers
Packers’ RB Aaron Jones, WR Christian Watson and OT David Bakhtiari are inactive today vs. the Saints. (Adam Schefter on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: The Packers will be once again down their best two offensive weapons with hamstring injuries. AJ Dillon has not looked good this season but should see 15 to 18 touches against the Saints. Romeo Doubs and Jayden should be the two receivers for Jordan Love.

Injury Aaron Jones, Christian Watson not expected to play
Key Packers expected to sit Week 2
By: Mike Krueger | Sat Sep 16, 11:45 pm

Green Bay Packers
The Green Bay Packers will likely be without two of their top offensive players when they take on the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday. Running back Aaron Jones and wide receiver Christian Watson, both listed as questionable for the game, are expected to be sidelined with hamstring injuries, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter. (ESPN)

FFToday's Take: Watson was the only one of the duo to get in a limited session on Friday. Green Bay will be short-handed in their matchup against the Falcons. Expect AJ Dillon to handle the bulk of the running back work. He's a viable RB2 based on volume. Romeo Doubs and Jayden Reed should be the top two targets at wide receiver for Jordan Love but both are nothing more than Flex options.

Injury Aaron Jones, Christian Watson miss practice Thursday
Hamstring injury
By: Mike Krueger | Thu Sep 14, 1:14 pm

Green Bay Packers
Quay Walker (concussion) is still in the protocol, but he’s progressed to the point where he’s going through some drills. Aaron Jones (hamstring) had a helmet but stayed inside to rehab. Christian Watson (hamstring) also rehabbing. No David Bakhtiari per usual practice plan. (Rob Demovsky on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: Injury of the year thus far is the hamstring. Both Watson and Jones are suffering from it, and both are in doubt for Week 2. If Jones misses, the Packers will likely lean on AJ Dillon who hasn't been a great fantasy asset lately but should get enough volume to be a Flex option.

Injury Christian Watson Out for Wk 1, Doubs listed as Questionable
Hamstring injury
By: Mike Krueger | Fri Sep 8, 2:42 pm

Green Bay Packers
Packers coach Matt LaFleur said Christian Watson is OUT, and Romeo Doubs is questionable. On Watson, LaFleur said he doesn't think it's going to be a 3-4 week thing but rather just week-to-week. (Rob Demovsky on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: Doubs got in limited practices the last two days. If he can't go, the Packers will be rolling out Jayden Reed, Samori Toure and Dontayvion Wicks at receiver... two of which are rookies. Expect to see a lot of Aaron Jones and AJ Dillon for Green Bay against the Bears.
