It's typical for most franchises to struggle to transition away from HOF quarterbacks, as the Steelers, Saints, Broncos, and Patriots can all attest to. The Cheeseheads up north simply shrug and find a new one, as Jordan Love's debut season could indeed set them up until 2040.
After languishing on the bench behind the mercurial Aaron Rodgers, Love finally got his shot last season. After a quick start, Love and the team cooled considerably, and an early season four-game losing streak seemed to have the doubters saying "I told you so". In the season's first nine games Love had a shaky 14-10 touchdown to interception ratio as Green Bay labored to score points. But an immensely young offensive core seemed to gel, and the return of a running game seemed to give balance to a languishing offense. From Week 11 on, Love surged, piling up a staggering 18 touchdowns with only a single interception. The team subsequently caught fire as well, going 6-2, locking up the wild card, and coming within a wisp of making it all the way to the Super Bowl. Love was masterful down the stretch, looking totally in control of the offense, and making off schedule plays with his arm and legs.
With a monster contract extension on the horizon, deep receiver room, and an offensive head coach that is a genius as scheming guys open, Love truly sits in the catbird seat. While his 2023 touchdown numbers (36 total) will be very hard to duplicate, Love should remain a safe floor value pick as your QB1 and has upside for more if Christan Watson can bring a consistent vertical element back to the offense.

Jordan Love dealing with a groin strain Day-to-day By: Doug Orth | Mon Oct 28, 7:10 pm
| | Source: #Packers QB Jordan Love’s MRI came back with some good news. It’s a strained groin, nothing major.
No surprise. He’ll get better every day and do treatment and monitor throughout the week. (NFL Network - Ian Rapoport)
FFToday's Take: Love has not been able to catch much of a break yet from the injury gods yet this season, dealing with this injury about a month after returning from a Week 1 knee issue. The Utah State product is coming off his worst game of the season - in part because he was hobbled by his groin injury early and exited the game for good early in the second half. While backup Malik Willis has played well when called upon this season, the Packers likely need Love to have any chance to go toe-to-toe with the Lions in Week 9.
| Jordan Love dealing with relatively minor MCL sprain Green Bay QB expected to miss at least three weeks By: Doug Orth | Mon Sep 9, 3:50 pm
| | Jordan Love reportedly suffered a Grade 1/Grade 2 MCL sprain in Week 1 against the Philadelphia Eagles. (NFL Network - Ian Rapoport)
FFToday's Take: The Packers are not expected to bring in another quarterback, so it appears Green Bay is comfortable going with Malik Willis for the next month. Willis has been with Green Bay for less than two weeks. While HC Matt LaFleur has proven himself to be a strong play-caller, fantasy managers need to downgrade every pass-catcher in Green Bay, which figures to rely more heavily on Josh Jacobs for the next month.
| MCL injury for Jordan Love Timeline is TBD By: Mike Krueger | Sat Sep 7, 3:35 pm
| | #Packers QB Jordan Love suffered an MCL injury in Friday’s loss to the #Eagles in Brazil, per sources. The ACL is OK. The timeline for Love’s return is TBD. They’ll gather additional info. But all in all, good news for the #Packers’ franchise QB. (Tom Pelissero on X)
FFToday's Take: Love left Friday night's game against the Eagles with 5 seconds left in the contest after getting tackled awkwardly by two defenders. He will undoubtedly miss games but the injury is not expected to be season-ending. Malik Willis is currently the backup QB for the Packers. He's never been a fantasy asset and his presence will downgrade the values of the entire Green Bay offense.
