 Practice window opened for Trey Benson, MHJ ruled Out
Emari Demercado also ruled Out for Week 12

|  | The Cardinals are opening that practice window for RB Trey Benson, coach Jonathan Gannon said.
Gannon also ruled out WR Marvin Harrison Jr. and RB Emari Demercado for Sunday’s game against Jacksonville. (Josh Weinfuss on X)
FFToday's Take: Benson last played in Week 4 when he suffered a knee injury that's kept him out of the last six games. When asked is Benson will play in Week 12, head coach Jonathan Gannon said they would evaluate him "day by day." Bam Knight and Michael Carter would handle running back duties if Benson isn't activated this week against Jacksonville.

Arizona making changes on offense

FFToday's Take: We already knew that Brissett would be starting at quarterback, now it seems the Cardinals are making a change at running back. Carter led the Arizona backfield in snaps and touches (23) last week while Knight had just 5. This will likely be a committee approach regardless of Knight starting and the matchup against the Colts isn't great. Knight can treated like a low-end Flex option in Week 6.
| Trey Benson has knee surgery, out 4-6 weeks

| | Injury update: Cardinals RB Trey Benson, who is being placed on injured reserve due to a knee injury, underwent arthroscopic surgery on his meniscus and now is expected to be sidelined 4-to-6 weeks, per source. (Adam Schefter on X)
FFToday's Take: Well, that escalated quickly. With Benson on the shelf, the Cardinals will likely turn to Michael Carter and Emari Demercado as their top two running backs. It's possible they could slide Carter into the early-down role and keep Demercado in the third-down, two-minute, pass-catching role. Both backs are waiver wire options this week but it's difficult to project either as more than a low-end RB2. Upcoming schedule for ARI is: TEN, @IND, GB, bye.
| Trey Benson may sit in Week 5
Knee injury

| | Another RB whose status for Sunday is now in question: Cardinals RB Trey Benson. Near the end of last Thursday’s game vs. the Seahawks, Benson banged his knee. It is not thought to be serious, but his status for Sunday now is in question. (Adam Schefter on X)
FFToday's Take: The Cardinals signed Michael Carter to the 53-man roster and D'Ernest Johnson to the practice squad -- a good sign that Benson is likely to miss this week. Emari Demercado played mostly third downs last week along with entire final Arizona drive against Seattle. Some kind of committee between Demercado and Carter is likely what we'll see this week against the Titans. We'll likely get a better idea on the workload split later in the week.
