Looking to build on an encouraging rookie season, Walker instead did little more than tread water as a sophomore: as a runner, he posted a 228-1050-9 line in Year 1 versus a 219-905-8 effort last year, and as a receiver it went from 27-165-0 to 29-259-1. Total it up, and he collected 255 touches, 1,215 yards, and nine touchdowns in 2022, compared to 248 touches for 1,164 yards and nine scores last season. He once again missed two games due to injury as well, though it was an oblique issue this time around.
Although he's not a bruiser, the Michigan State alum has decent power to go with a mix of shiftiness and burst in the open field. He's also solid in pass protection with reliable hands, meaning he's capable of contributing on all three downs. That could be key as new offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb has said the backs will be more involved in the passing game than they were under Carroll.
While Walker remains the lead back, there is some mild cause for concern after he missed time each of his first two seasons and has talent behind him that could warrant more snaps. Nonetheless, Walker retains appeal as a low-end RB2 or strong RB3.

Kenneth Walker downgraded to Questionable, illness Week 7 By: Mike Krueger | Sat Oct 19, 4:21 pm
| | The #Seahawks added RB Kenneth Walker III to the injury report and he is now questionable for Sunday's game against the #Falcons because of an illness. (Tom Pelissero on X)
FFToday's Take: We'll have to wait for further reporting on his status, but for now Walker owners should get plan B in place. The Seahawks and Falcons kick off at 1 PM Eastern on Sunday, so we should know all the details before early lock. Zach Charbonnet would step into a big role if Walker were to sit.
| Kenneth Walker off the injury report, will play Week 4 Oblique injury By: Mike Krueger | Sat Sep 28, 3:12 pm
| | The Seahawks ruled out four defensive players for their Monday night game at Detroit: OLBs Uchenna Nwosu and Boye Mafe, DE Leonard Williams and DT Byron Murphy.
ILB Jerome Baker is questionable.
No listing for RB Kenneth Walker, so he’ll return after missing the last two games. (Brady Henderson on X)
FFToday's Take: Walker has missed the last two games with an oblique injury but is set to return Week 4 against the Lions on Monday night. This pushes Zach Charbonnet off the must-start list and down into Flex consideration. The Lions have given up the fewest fantasy points to running backs through three games.
| Kenneth Walker listed as Doubtful Oblique injury By: Mike Krueger | Fri Sep 20, 4:04 pm
| | Seahawks have again declared Kenneth Walker III as doubtful. Nwosu is out and George Fant and Jerome Baker also listed as doubtful: (Bob Codotta on X)
FFToday's Take: Walker is set to miss another game giving Zach Charbonnet the start against the Dolphins. Last week, Charbonnet handled 95.7% of the snaps, signaling he's in for another big workload in Week 3. The Dolphins have given up the 5th most fantasy points to RBs through two games.
| Kenneth Walker listed as Doubtful for Week 2 Oblique injury By: Mike Krueger | Fri Sep 13, 4:22 pm
| | The #Seahawks listed RB Kenneth Walker III (oblique) as doubtful for Sunday vs. New England. (Tom Pelissero on X)
FFToday's Take: Walker missed practice this week and is an extreme long-shot to play given the Doubtful designation. Expect Zach Charbonnet to handle the bulk of the rushing work for Seattle against the Patriots. Kenny McIntosh will work into the mix as well. Charbonnet can be deployed as an RB2 in most formats.
| RB Kenneth Walker misses practice Thursday Oblique injury By: Mike Krueger | Thu Sep 12, 7:08 pm
| | Seahawks RB Kenneth Walker and RT George Fant were non-participants for the second straight day. ILB Tyrel Dodson was limited today after not practicing yesterday, while TE Pharaoh Brown went from limited to DNP. (Brady Henderson on X)
FFToday's Take: Walker is now officially iffy for Week 2. His participation and injury designation on Friday will be key. Zach Charbonnet would assume a larger role in the offense if Walker were to miss. Kenny McIntosh is third on the depth chart.
| Kenneth Walker dealing with abdominal issue Coach, player optimistic he will be ready for Week 2 vs. NE By: Doug Orth | Mon Sep 9, 3:40 pm
| | Kenneth Walker was not, however, on the field late in the fourth quarter due to what was announced as abdominal pain. But after the game, Walker said he was fine when asked about the injury.
"I'm good," he said.
When Seahawks coach Mike Macdonald was later asked if Walker was OK, he said, "We think so, yeah. He got a little muscle thing. We'll see, we'll figure it out moving forward, but optimistic." (Seahawks.com - John Boyle)
FFToday's Take: There is not much information to go on here regarding Walker's injury, so we will have to assume his and Macdonald's optimism is legitimate for now. For what it is worth, Walker took questions ina presser after the game, so the injury has to be relatively minor. Zach Charbonnet finished out the game in Walker's stead and logged 23 offensive snaps, but it was clearly Walker's backfield for the most part before he left the game.
