Stroud was actually able to support multiple breakout seasons last year. Fellow rookie Tank Dell joined the modern group of small receivers who can dominate at the NFL level. Before a season-ending injury in Week 13, Dell demonstrated the ability to deliver monster weeks. In ten games before his injury, Dell cleared 25 fantasy points three times and scored at least 17 points in six games.
Dell made a living as Houston's big play, deep threat. His 14.3-yard aDOT was the 12th highest of any receiver last year. Unlike many other vertical weapons in the NFL, Dell also saw consistent volume. His 20.4 percent target share is not an elite mark, but it is strong for someone who is used like Dell.
While both Diggs and Collins can get vertical, Dell will likely reprise his role as the big play weapon. The addition of Diggs does bring into question whether or not Dell can maintain his target share. As long as Stroud continues to target Dell at a reasonable rate, he can be a strong option at receiver every week but we may see more volatility in Dell's output.

Nico Collins, Tank Dell listed as Questionable for Week 10 Nico limited in practice on Friday By: Mike Krueger | Fri Nov 8, 4:03 pm
| | Houston also added Tank Dell to the injury report with a back injury and he is now questionable. Pass rusher Will Anderson Jr. (ankle) is out. WR Nico Collins, who just returned to practice today after missing a month with a hamstring injury, is listed as questionable for Sunday night vs. the #Lions. (Tom Pelissero on X)
FFToday's Take: The Texans don't play until Sunday night so this is going to be a tricky situation for fantasy owners. Nico missed practice Wednesday and Thursday before being limited on Friday. If he does play, he could be limited making him a risky Flex option in Week 10.
| ACL injury confirmed for Stefon Diggs Out for the season By: Mike Krueger | Tue Oct 29, 1:36 pm
| | A big loss: Texans WR Stefon Diggs suffered a season-ending knee injury Sunday vs. the Colts. What makes the season-ending torn ACL worse for Stefon Diggs is that he is on an expiring contract and set to become a free agent this off-season. (Adam Schefter on X)
FFToday's Take: The Texans have missed Nico Collins for the last couple games and will now be without Diggs for the rest of the season. Tank Dell has been a disappointment this season but is going to be needed even more now beginning Thursday night against the Jets. Xavier Hutchinson, Robert Woods and John Metchie are next up on the depth chart.
| Stefon Diggs likely to miss some time Scheduled to undergo an MRI on Week 8 knee injury By: Doug Orth | Mon Oct 28, 6:30 pm
| | Houston Texans wide receiver Stefon Diggs suffered a non-contact knee injury late in the third quarter of Sunday’s game against the Colts.
He was attempting to run a route when he grabbed at his right knee. Trainers checked on him for several minutes. He was able to walk off on his own power after a few minutes, but headed straight for the locker room after getting up.
He was later ruled out in the fourth quarter for the remainder of the game and never returned to the sideline. (Houston Chronicle)
FFToday's Take: Fantasy managers should expect Diggs to land on IR. At the very least, it seems highly unlikely he will be able to play Thursday against the Jets. With Nico Collins (hamstring) still one week away from being eligible to return and Diggs almost certainly out for Week 9, Tank Dell should be expected to be featured against the Jets' tough secondary. Robert Woods, John Metchie and Xavier Hutchinson are all also in play in deeper leagues, but Dell and Dalton Schultz will likely be the only pass-catchers worth using in most formats this week.
| Nico Collins placed on IR, hamstring injury Will miss at least the next four games By: Mike Krueger | Wed Oct 9, 10:30 am
| | Texans are placing WR Nico Collins on injured reserve due to his hamstring injury. He will be sidelined a minimum of four games. (Adam Schefter on X)
FFToday's Take: The hamstring bites another. Collins was injured in Week 5 on a 67-yard TD catch but will now miss the next 4 games. The earliest he could return would be Week 10 against the Lions. The Texans don't have their bye until Week 14. Xavier Hutchinson finished out the game in Nico's role so he's worth a look if you need WR help. Perhaps more target will flow to Tank Dell in the coming weeks.
| Joe Mixon, Dameon Pierce miss practice Thursday Texans still struggling at RB By: Mike Krueger | Thu Oct 3, 1:34 pm
| | #Texans’ Joe Mixon misses second practice in a row with ankle injury, Laremy Tunsil returns to practice, Tank Dell, Jimmie Ward practice second day in a row, Dameon Pierce sidelined again
@KPRC2 (Aaron Wilson on X)
FFToday's Take: Mixon was a limited participant in practice on Friday of last week but was ultimately ruled Out for Week 4. Two missed practices to begin Week 5 isn't promising for chances to play on Sunday against the Bills. If both Mixon and Pierce aren't able to play, it will once again be Cam Akers leading the backfield for the Texans. He's been underwhelming the last few weeks in the lead-back role.
| Joe Mixon, Tank Dell trending in right direction for Week 5 RB nursing an ankle sprain, WR dealing with a chest issue By: Doug Orth | Mon Sep 30, 5:25 pm
| | Texans coach DeMeco Ryans says RB Joe Mixon and WR Tank Dell will be 'day-to-day' this week.
"We'll see this week with a week of practice." (Jonathan Alexander on Twitter)
FFToday's Take: Mixon made a surprise return to a limited practice on Friday, suggesting he has a realistic shot at playing in Week 5 against the Bills. Dell did not practice all of last week, but he is also more likely than not to play. Mixon was saying enough volume before his injury to be considered a high-end RB2, so his return will be important for fantasy managers. Dell was having his best game of the season in Week 3 before getting hurt, but he appears to be a clear third option behind Nico Collins and Stefon Diggs at the moment.
| Tank Dell unlikely to play in Week 4 Missed practice Thursday, ribs By: Mike Krueger | Thu Sep 26, 1:34 pm
| | #Texans’ Tank Dell managing pain of bruised ribs, unlikely to play against Jaguars; Joe Mixon, Dameon Pierce still sidelined @KPRC2 (Aaron Wilson on X)
FFToday's Take: Dell has missed practice both Wednesday and Thursday due to a rib injury. If he misses Week 4 against Jacksonville, expect more receiving production from Nico Collins, Stefon Diggs and TE Dalton Schultz. Cam Akers is trending to get another start as well.
