An unheralded fifth-round draft pick, Nacua went from roughly zero percent ownership in fantasy leagues to 100 following the first two games of 2023 during which he caught 25 passes for 266 yards. While he clearly couldn't maintain such a monstrous pace, he still finished with 105 receptions, 1,486 yards, and six touchdowns -- good enough to finish in the top-10 in both catches and yards. Most years that'd be sufficient to capture the NFL Rookie of the Year award, but Nacua had to settle for second behind Texans QB C.J. Stroud.
There'll be no surprises with Nacua in Year 2, but there's no reason to doubt his performance as he functioned as the No.1 target for much of the season while Kupp battled injuries. The BYU alum has shown he can get open, work underneath or downfield, and make contested catches with regularity. If he can up his game in the red zone, Nacua could push toward the top of the receiver rankings. Even now, he belongs in the top 10 of fantasy wideouts.

Puka Nacua added to injury report, knee Limited in practice on Thursday By: Mike Krueger | Thu Oct 31, 7:15 pm
| | Rams WR Puka Nacua was scheduled for his weekly press conference today, but was not able to do it because he left practice with a knee injury, per a team official. He will be listed as “limited” on the injury report. McVay next speaks tomorrow. This is the same knee as was previously injured, per team official. (Jourdan Rodrigue on X)
FFToday's Take: Not great. We'll have a better idea of the seriousness of Puka knee injury after practice tomorrow. He posted a 7-106-0 line last week after missing much of the season with a knee injury suffered in Week 1. The Rams visit the Seahawks in Week 9.
| Puka Nacua expected to play Thursday night Hasn't played since Week 1 By: Mike Krueger | Thu Oct 24, 4:02 pm
| | Now official: The #Rams have activated Puka Nacua from injured reserve. Don’t expect him to play a normal snap count tonight, but another boost for L.A. nonetheless. (Tom Pelissero on X)
FFToday's Take: It's likely that Puka (knee) will be limited but we just don't really know at this point. Given that his snaps could be limited, he's extremely risky for starting lineups this week, even in a great matchup against the Vikings.
| Puka Nacua nearing return WR has been sidelined since Week 1 with knee issue By: Doug Orth | Tue Oct 22, 5:30 pm
| | Puka Nacua, whose knee injury has limited him to just 25 snaps so far in 2024, had his 21-day practice window opened by the club, officially designating his return from injured reserve and bringing his presence back to the practice field on Tuesday.
Nacua had been dealing with a knee issue through training camp and the preseason but aggravated the injury midway through the second quarter of the Rams' Week 1 overtime loss to the Lions. The second-year wideout had four receptions for 35 yards before his early exit. (Around the NFL)
FFToday's Take: While it is possible Nacua could return in Week 8, it seems extremely unlikely considering the Rams play on Thursday this week. A Week 9 return seems more likely. Either way, Nacua should serve as a high-end WR2 immediately upon his return. If he is truly 100 percent healthy, it should surprise no one if he quickly moves up to low-end WR1 status.
| Cooper Kupp has a chance to return in Week 7 Puka Nacua not ready to practice yet By: Doug Orth | Mon Oct 14, 7:15 pm
| | Rams WR Cooper Kupp (ankle) will work out with trainers today but no determination has been made about his availability for Sunday’s game against Raiders, McVay said. Puka Nacua (knee) will not practice this week. (Los Angeles Times - Gary Klein)
FFToday's Take: Fantasy managers should expect to be without both players, although it sounds as if Kupp will be back no later than Week 8 at the latest. Given the nature of his injury, managers should not expect him to return to the PPR dynamo he typically is when he is 100%. As far as Nacua is concerned, it does not bode well for his prospects of returning anytime soon that he is still not ready to practice. If Kupp makes it back this week, the Rams will likely line him up alongside some combination of Demarcus Robinson, Tutu Atwell and Jordan Whittington.
| Cooper Kupp likely headed to IR Left ankle sprain By: Doug Orth | Mon Sep 16, 6:40 pm
| | Rams wide receiver Cooper Kupp will miss "an extended period of time" with a left ankle sprain, coach Sean McVay said on Monday.
Kupp left the Rams' 41-10 loss to the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday with the injury. He is a candidate for injured reserve, McVay said, which is a decision the head coach said the team expects to make either Monday or Tuesday. (ESPN.com - Sarah Barshop)
FFToday's Take: The Rams likely win the award for the most injury-ravaged team through two weeks. Los Angeles already has two offensive linemen on IR and are expected to put another there this week, joining Puka Nacua (knee). Because the Rams' bye week is Week 6, the earliest Kupp could return from IR is Week 8 (assuming he is placed there). Without Kupp and Nacua, Matthew Stafford will be forced to rely heavily on Demarcus Robinson, Tyler Johnson, Tutu Atwell and Jordan Whittington.
| Puka Nacua lands on IR Aggravation of preseason knee injury By: Doug Orth | Mon Sep 9, 4:20 pm
| | Rams WR Puka Nacua aggravated his summer knee injury Sunday night vs. the Lions and, while he still is going through additional testing, he is expected to be considered week to week, per sources. (ESPN - Adam Schefter)
FFToday's Take: While this is not a season-ending bad kind of injury for Nacua, it is not a great sign that he was unable to make it through a full game after going the rest-and-rehab path for about a month in August. Fantasy managers should probably not expect Nacua to return before the start of October. Tyler Johnson filled in very capably after Nacua's exit and appeared to be the direct backup for Nacua - as opposed to preseason standout Jordan Whittington - and should be targeted on waivers this week. Cooper Kupp should continue to see alpha usage moving forward, while Demarcus Robinson should also enjoy a slight bump in his fantasy stock.
