Tommy DeVito will start at QB for the Giants Drew Lock in a walking boot By: Mike Krueger | Wed Dec 11, 12:33 pm

Giants will start Tommy DeVito this week vs. Ravens, per coach Brian Daboll. Drew Lock is in a boot with a heel injury. Will not practice on Wednesday. (Jordan Raanan on X)
FFToday's Take: The Giants have bad and worse options at quarterback right now. DeVito got the start in Week 12 and finished with a 189-0-0, 7-32-0 line against the Ravens. Despite the positive matchup against the Ravens who have allowed the 5th-most fantasy points to quarterbacks, it's hard to get behind DeVito as anything more than a low-end QB2.

Tommy DeVito not expected to play, Drew Lock to start QB switch for the Giants By: Mike Krueger | Thu Nov 28, 12:07 pm

#Giants QB Tommy DeVito, who stayed behind in NY to get an MRI and other tests for his forearm before flying to Dallas, is not expected to play today. Drew Lock slated to start. (Ian Rapoport on X)
FFToday's Take: This was the prevailing wisdom yesterday. The is quarterback switch probably helps the Giants passing game and offense as a whole. The Giants scored 7 points last week against the Buccaneers with DeVito at the helm. The Cowboys represent a positive matchup for Lock, but he hasn't played meaningful snaps since Week 15 last season.

Malik Nabers expected to play Week 12 Groin injury By: Mike Krueger | Sun Nov 24, 2:15 am
| |
#Giants WR Malik Nabers (groin) is expected to play today against the #Bucs. He was listed as questionable. (Ian Rapoport on X)
FFToday's Take: Nabers sat out practice on Friday with a groin injury but is expected to play against the Buccaneers today. He'll have a new quarterback (Tommy DeVito) but should remain in the WR2 range against a Bucs-D that's given up the 5th most fantasy points to wide receivers.

Giants release QB Daniel Jones Expected to clear waivers and become a free agent By: Mike Krueger | Fri Nov 22, 11:36 am

Daniel Jones met with owner John Mara this morning. There is a ton of respect between the two men and they both reached agreement that a parting of ways is the way to go.
Jones will go on waivers, but is expected to clear and then become a FA. (Jordan Schultz on X)
FFToday's Take: The Daniel Jones era with the Giants is over. He was benched prior to Week 12 in favor of Tommy DeVito which signaled his time with the team was done. Any team making a claim for him would be on the hook for his remaining 2024 salary (roughly $12 million) which isn't likely to happen. The Giants will be eating roughly $20 million in dead money with this move.

Giants turning to Tommy DeVito at quarterback Daniel Jones heads to the bench By: Mike Krueger | Mon Nov 18, 8:10 am
| |
Sources: The New York Giants are expected to replace Daniel Jones with Tommy DeVito as their new starting quarterback. (Adam Schefter on X)
FFToday's Take: The Giants have won two games this season and are last in scoring (15.6 points per game), so it's not a shock that they've decided to make a QB switch. This move could signal the end of the road for Jones in New York. Drew Lock had been the backup to Jones this season, but HC Brian Daboll has decided to go with DeVito who played in 9 games last season. He'll be on the QB2 radar with games upcoming against Tampa Bay, @Dallas, New Orleans and Baltimore.
