The 2024 rookie class saw seven receivers selected in the first round. The eighth receiver taken, as the first pick of the second round, was Florida State's Keon Coleman, who immediately steps into a situation where he might actually end up leading all rookies in pass-catching opportunities this season. The Coleman selection was significant for fantasy purposes because he becomes perhaps the top target in one of the league's most pass-heavy offenses, led by a quarterback who's averaged nearly 4,400 passing yards and over 34 passing touchdowns per season over his past four years.
What's interesting about Coleman is that he lacks the speed that most teams have typically been looking for in early-round draft picks, but he makes up for it with prototypical "X" receiver size at 6'3" and 213 lbs. He enters a team that lost 241 targets with the departures of Stefon Diggs and Gabe Davis, and a roster that really does not have any other consistent, proven producers on it. He was also, reportedly, a favorite prospect of Josh Allen's, who was part of the draft process according to GM Brandon Beane.
Coleman wasn't a big-time producer in college, but he seems to have the physical talent, and more importantly, the opportunity, to be a fantasy factor as early as Week 1 in 2024. It's not often that we have the chance to draft the projected WR1 in a Josh Allen offense with a pick outside the top 100, but that's looking like the trend as of now. He's practically free at that price and it's hard to argue that many of the other receivers going in that range possess anywhere near the upside that Coleman presents.

Keon Coleman in, Dalton Kincaid Questionable for Week 15 Bills getting help at receiver By: Mike Krueger | Fri Dec 13, 12:45 pm
| | Bills TE Dalton Kincaid is questionable vs. the Lions.
WR Keon Coleman is off the injury report and will not have a designation for the game. (Joe Buscaglia on X)
FFToday's Take: Coleman last played in Week 9, missing the last few weeks with a wrist injury. He returns to the best game environment of the weekend in a matchup with Detroit with a 54.5 total. The Bills receiver room is crowded however, making Coleman a weak Flex option for Week 15. Kincaid has been listed as full participant in practice this week, however the Bills skipped practice on Thursday due to weather.
| TE Dalton Kincaid Out for Week 13 Knee injury By: Mike Krueger | Fri Nov 29, 12:02 pm
| | Bills HC Sean McDermott says TE Dalton Kincaid is out against the 49ers.
WR Keon Coleman, LB Matt Milano (IR) and DT DeWayne Carter (IR) will be listed as questionable. (Joe Buscaglia on X)
FFToday's Take: Kincaid missed practice this week with a knee injury and has already been ruled out. Dawson Knox will get the start in his place. Knox will be a TE2 this week against San Francisco. He finished with a 4-40-0 line as the starter back in Week 11 against Kansas City.
| Michael Pittman Jr. Out for Week 10 Back injury By: Mike Krueger | Fri Nov 8, 1:06 pm
| | Colts HC Shane Steichen: Michael Pittman Jr. (finger, back) OUT vs. Bills. Did not practice this week. Taking it week to week. Been battling it. It's the back. IR not being considered. (Mike Chappell on X)
FFToday's Take: Pittman has been battling a back injury the last couple weeks and it's no surprise his production has been lacking. Rookie Adonai Mitchell should see his snap rate increase and Josh Downs should be considered the top receiving option against the Bills in Week 10. In this same game, the Bills have ruled out Keon Coleman with a wrist injury.
| Trade: Cleveland sends WR Amari Cooper to Buffalo Browns get third round pick By: Mike Krueger | Tue Oct 15, 2:18 pm
| | Full trade, per multiple sources: Browns are getting a 3rd round and the Bills get Amari Cooper. The two teams are also going to make a swap of late picks. Bills get a 6th, Browns get a 7th. (Jordan Schultz on X)
FFToday's Take: The Bills have been lacking an alpha receiver in their offense and now they get one. They've been using a 5-man receiver rotation but we'll see if this move helps condense their rotation to Cooper, Khalil Shakir and rookie Keon Coleman. Perhaps Mack Hollins will stay on the field and Cooper will push Coleman to the bench. Either way, this is a good move for Cooper's fantasy value as he gets a big upgrade in quarterback play.
| Khalil Shakir Out for Week 5 with ankle injury Missed practice all week By: Mike Krueger | Fri Oct 4, 11:08 am
| | Bills HC Sean McDermott ruled out Khalil Shakir and Ed Oliver for Sunday’s game against the Texans. (Adam Schefter on X)
FFToday's Take: Shakir injured his ankle in Week 4, but later returned to the game. Expect the Bills to be run-focused against the Ravens this week but we could see a few more opportunities for rookie Keon Coleman and tight end Dalton Kincaid.
