It was a trying rookie season for the 9th overall pick. Stuck behind two veteran receivers for most of the season, Odunze struggled to carve out a consistent role in the offense. His best asset, winning contested catches deep down field, was neutered by erratic quarterback play, and he barely hauled in half of his 101 total targets. He showed limitations as a route runner, and other than a sprinkle of games, was largely useless for fantasy.
But the sky looks brighter in 2025. He stands to gain the most from any meaningful improvements in Caleb Williams, and if the refinement in his route tree can begin to approach his physical talent, he has the potential to vault over D.J. Moore as the team's No.1 option in the passing game. Chicago's offensive talent doesn't mirror Detroit, so it remains to be seen how Ben Johnson will deploy the many chess pieces on his board. Volume is the biggest concern, but Odunze has the physical tools to dominate, and should be more consistent this season. With a wide range of outcomes, I'm willing to bet on talent, and a top-25 finish.

Rome Odunze, Luther Burden ruled Out for Week 16 Bears down two starting receivers By: Mike Krueger | Thu Dec 18, 2:27 pm

| | Bears WRs Rome Odunze (Foot) and Luther Burden III (Ankle) both ruled out for Saturday vs. Packers. (Tom Pelissero on X)
FFToday's Take: The Bears will be shorthanded when they face the Packers on Saturday night. Neither wideout practiced this week. Without Odunze and Burden, the Bears will be counting on D.J. Moore and Olamide Zaccheaus to fill the wide receiver void. TE Colston Loveland could also see increased targets.

| Rome Odunze could get shut down after setback Re-injured foot during warmups and was late scratch in Week 15 By: Doug Orth | Mon Dec 15, 11:30 pm

| | Ben Johnson said "all options are on the table" regarding Rome Odunze's foot injury and whether the team will shut him down for a stretch of time to get him healthy, ready for a potential playoff run.
Johnson: "There may be a case that we need to protect him from himself a little bit so he can help us down the road." (ESPN.com - Courtney Cronin)
FFToday's Take: At this point, it makes little sense for the Bears to have Odunze return before the start of the playoffs in early January. Not only should the 10 wins that Chicago already has get them into the postseason, but the emergence of rookies Luther Burden III and Colston Loveland gives the Bears more than a fighting chance to add to their win total over the final three weeks of the regular season.

| Rome Odunze back for Week 15? Foot injury By: Mike Krueger | Sat Dec 13, 10:24 am

| | The Bears are optimistic about wide receiver Rome Odunze (questionable, foot) playing Sunday vs Cleveland, per sources. (Jeremy Fowler on X)
FFToday's Take: Oduzne missed Week 14 with a foot injury but did get in limited practices all week and is listed as Questionable. He got off to a fast start this season with five TDs in his first four games but has since cooled off just one touchdown since Week 4. The Browns have given up the 2nd fewest receiving yards (1419) to the position.

| Rome Odunze Out for Week 14 Missed practice all week with a foot injury By: Mike Krueger | Fri Dec 5, 2:27 pm

| | Bears ruled out WR Rome Odunze for Sunday’s game at Green Bay due to a foot injury. (Adam Schefter on X)
FFToday's Take: Oduzne missed practice all week with a foot injury and will now sit in Week 14 against the Packers. D.J. Moore, Luther Burden III and TE Colston Loveland could all see an increase in targets. The Bears have been focused on running the ball the last couple weeks and their passing game has been inefficient, so it's likely that the fantasy community will overvalue this spot for the Chicago pass catchers.

| Rome Odunze misses practice on Thursday Foot injury By: Mike Krueger | Thu Dec 4, 3:01 pm

| | #Bears WR Rome Odunze (foot), CB Tyrique Stevenson (hip) remain DNP.
LB T.J. Edwards (hand/hamstring) was limited. Have to think chances Edwards' returns Sunday to face Green Bay are decent. (Brad Biggs on X)
FFToday's Take: Odunze was also sidelined on Wednesday with a foot injury. That makes him a legitimate question mark for Week 14 against the Packers. We should get a better feel for his status after practice on Friday.

| Rome Odunze, D.J. Moore limited, D'Andre Swift DNP on Thu Swift dealing with groin issue By: Mike Krueger | Thu Oct 30, 3:16 pm

| | Bears Thursday injury report
DJ Moore (hip/groin), Rome Odunze (heel), Olamide Zaccheaus (knee) were all upgraded to LIMITED. Luther Burden III (concussion) was DNP for a 2nd straight day.
Tyrique Stevenson (shoulder) was FULL. Good sign for him rejoining the Bears secondary vs. Bengals. Cole Kmet had a 2nd straight day of being limited.
Still no D'Andre Swift (groin), Roschon Johnson (back), Dominique Robinson (ankle). (Courtney Cronin on X)
FFToday's Take: Swift has been dealing with a groin issue for a few weeks now but has typically been limited in practices during the week. The fact that he's missed practice both Wednesday and Thursday is noteworthy. Kyle Monangai would get a huge boost up the fantasy ranks if Swift were to miss this week.
