2025 Outlook
Depth Chart
The "rookie tight ends can be productive players" myth has evaporated the last few seasons, with Sam LaPorta, and Brock Bowers having historical statistical finishes. Loveland was a surprise pick by the Bears, but it's clear the team has a clear plan for the rookie from Michigan. Playing more like a big wideout, than inline tight end, Loveland has the athletic traits and offensive scheme to have a solid fantasy ceiling in his first season. Like LaPorta in his rookie year, Loveland will be surrounded by more "flashy" teammates who will tend to draw the attention of the defense. Loveland can use his frame, and separation ability to take advantage of lesser defenders in the short and intermediate parts of the field, and be an asset in the red zone. While he won't impress anyone with his blocking ability, he will have to hold off a well-paid vet to earn consistent playing time. That, and volume are the biggest roadblocks to Loveland being more than a TE2 early on.

Injury Rome Odunze Out for Week 14
Missed practice all week with a foot injury
By: Mike Krueger | Fri Dec 5, 2:27 pm

Chicgao Bears
Bears ruled out WR Rome Odunze for Sunday’s game at Green Bay due to a foot injury. (Adam Schefter on X)

FFToday's Take: Oduzne missed practice all week with a foot injury and will now sit in Week 14 against the Packers. D.J. Moore, Luther Burden III and TE Colston Loveland could all see an increase in targets. The Bears have been focused on running the ball the last couple weeks and their passing game has been inefficient, so it's likely that the fantasy community will overvalue this spot for the Chicago pass catchers.

Injury Swift, Monangai, Kmet full practice on Thursday
Bears getting healthy
By: Mike Krueger | Thu Nov 6, 3:15 pm

Chicgao Bears
FULL participation today: TE Cole Kmet (concussion), WR Luther Burden (concussion), RB D'Andre Swift (groin), RB Kyle Monangai (ankle) (Brad Biggs on X)

FFToday's Take: Both Swift and Kmet missed Week 9 but both are on track to play in Week 10. Swift's return will put a wet blanket on Monangai's fantasy value until we get a better understanding of their usage after the rookie's big game against the Bengals. Colston Loveland's value also takes a hit with Kmet back in the lineup.

Injury TE Colston Loveland not expected to play in Week 4
Hip injury
By: Mike Krueger | Sat Sep 27, 2:28 pm

Chicgao Bears
Bears TE Colston Loveland is not expected to play Sunday vs. the Raiders due to his hip injury, per source. Bears elevated tight end Stephen Carlson from their practice squad for Sunday’s game at Las Vegas. (Adam Schefter on X)

FFToday's Take: The Bears rookie tight end got in a limited practice on Friday... his only practice of the week. Cole Kmet has played over 90 percent of the snaps so far this season but has just a 7.4% target share. Loveland being out certainly helps Kmet's outlook but it's not the boost you might think. Still, he's a decent TE2 dart throw and a cheap DFS option if you need help at the position.
