It’s taken a bevy of injuries to push him to the top of
the depth chart, but Perriman is on the verge of setting career
highs across the board in his 4th NFL season. Showing a surprisingly
diverse route tree last week during his 7-102 line, Perriman has
been a monster in the fantasy playoffs, and a soothing salve for
owners who may have lost Godwin or Evans. Perriman and Winston
have made beautiful music so far, and Atlanta has buttoned things
up recently, but Godwin went off in Week 12. I’d be happy
starting anyone in this passing offense right now, and Perriman
is the choice.
While Corey Davis has been a gigantic bust as a former top-5 pick,
Brown has been a revelation as a rookie 2nd rounder. A threat to
score however he gets the ball in his hands (Brown averaged over
40 yards a touch last week, and is at 19.3 yards-per-reception on
the season). As a rookie and big play threat Brown has had plenty
of boom/bust weeks, but he’s seemed to settle in as the go-to in
this passing game down the stretch. In Week 15 against the Texans
he set career highs with 8 receptions on 13 targets. Tennessee is
facing a must win situation for a chance at the playoffs and Houston
may be calling it quits by halftime. With week winning skill, stick
with the hot hand and roll with Brown as top tier option.
Enjoying a true breakout in his 2nd season, Sutton compiled a
tantalizing 27 targets in the three games Drew Lock has started.
Those targets have only led to 14 scoreless receptions, but some
positive regression in those stats are due against a sorry Raiders
team playing out the string. Talent, opportunity, and match-up converge
to make Sutton a strong play in the fantasy season’s final
week.
Another of the surprise breakout receivers on the SCR, Parker
has finally been able to realize his talent by putting in a fairly
injury-free season. He’s been a monster in standard leagues
this season, as he’s tied for second with 9 receiving touchdowns.
Another fantasy playoff MVP, Parker had 9-183-3 combined in Weeks
15 and 16. Unfortunately the well is going to dry up quickly in
a meeting with the Pats and shutdown corner Stephon Gillmore.
In Week 2 against New England Parker was truly erased, as he put
up the golden goose egg on 7 targets.
With Buffalo locked into their playoff seeding it’s unlikely Anderson
and the Jets offense will have to face the full strength of the
Buffalo secondary, but this still isn’t a game I like Anderson to
flourish in. Anderson has struggled against any defense of substance
this year, and I much prefer Jamison Crowder out of the slot this
week as Darnold still lacks the protection to throw deep. Playing
for perhaps his final game in Green, there are much better upside
options at the position this week.
A likely victim of both the Pittsburgh secondary and the fact
that many starters will be sitting, it makes perfect sense to
steer clear of the rookie from Oklahoma. After a scorching hot
start, he’s been largely invisible over the last month of
the season as his target share has evaporated. Plagued by lower
leg injuries much of the year, it would surprise me to see Brown
play more than a handful of snaps.
