With nearly 3,000 receiving yards and 18 touchdowns on over 300 targets over his two seasons with the Eagles, A.J. Brown has elevated himself to being a mid-to-late-first-round pick in fantasy drafts this season. Brown has now gone over 1,000 receiving yards in four of his five professional seasons, including 42 touchdown receptions. Despite playing with some questionable quarterbacks at times, Brown has established himself as a top-end wide receiver who is extremely versatile and thus extremely safe for fantasy here in 2024.
While Brown's 2023 season was excellent, it's notable that he only managed to score seven touchdowns on nearly 1,500 receiving yards and 106 total catches. If he ends up positively regressing back to a more normalized rate, or even an elevated rate as he's done multiple times before 2023, Brown could easily return truly game-breaking fantasy numbers this season.
The Eagles have multiple quality passing game options, but Brown is the clear alpha and Jalen Hurts' favorite target. Don't expect that to change this season.

A.J. Brown, DeVonta Smith likely to play in Week 6 Eagles top two WRs both missed Week 4 with injuries By: Doug Orth | Mon Oct 7, 7:40 pm
| | My understanding is the #eagles are expecting to have their top WRs A.J. Brown (hamstring) and DeVonta Smith (concussion) back this week vs the #browns. (Underdog Fantasy - James Palmer)
FFToday's Take: Philadelphia's Week 5 bye came at a great time. Brown injured his hamstring late in the week before Week 2 and has not played since. Smith was concussed in Week 3 and sat out Week 4. With both receivers back, the Eagles' offense should quickly return to the unit that rolled up 410 total yards against the Packers in Brazil to begin the season. Brown boasts WR1 upside every time he takes the field, while Smith is not far off that - especially given his increased slot usage so far in 2024.
| A.J. Brown likely to miss some time Expected to miss "a couple of weeks" By: Doug Orth | Mon Sep 16, 11:50 pm
| | On ESPN MNF broadcast, Lisa Salters reports Eagles WR A.J. Brown - who is OUT tonight after his hamstring tightened up in practice Friday - expects to miss “a couple of weeks” with his injury. (ESPN - Stephania Bell)
FFToday's Take: There are conflicting reports on this one, as at least one source suggests Brown could have pushed to play in the team's Monday Night Football loss to the Falcons. Brown was ruled out early Sunday, however, which makes it more likely that he could miss at least another game. Fantasy managers would be wise to prepare for Brown to miss Weeks 3-4 just in case. DeVonta Smith figures to benefit the most in fantasy from his absence.
| A.J. Brown downgraded to Out for Week 2 Hamstring injury By: Mike Krueger | Sun Sep 15, 12:00 pm
| | #Eagles WR A.J. Brown has been downgraded to out with a hamstring injury for Monday night. (Ian Rapoport on X)
FFToday's Take: The only good thing about this news is that we get it before the early games are played. DeVonta Smith gets a nice boost as does TE Dallas Goedert. Jahan Dotson isn't a recommended option.
| A.J. Brown listed as Questionable for Monday night Hamstring injury By: Mike Krueger | Sat Sep 14, 4:09 pm
| | #Eagles WR A.J. Brown (hamstring) did not practice today and is officially questionable for Monday night's game against the #Texans. (Tom Pelissero on X)
FFToday's Take: Brown popped up on Friday's injury report with a hamstring issue. We don't like late-week additions to the injury report, especially for players playing Monday night. It's difficult to envision backups Jahan Dotson or Johnny Wilson having a significant fantasy impact if Brown misses.
| Trade: Eagles land Commanders' WR Jahan Dotson Washington gets draft pick compensation By: Mike Krueger | Thu Aug 22, 11:30 am
| | A rare in-division trade: Washington is sending former first-round pick Jahan Dotson and a fifth-round pick to the Eagles in exchange for a 2025 third-round pick and two seventh-round picks, per sources. (Adam Schefter on X)
FFToday's Take: The Eagles have been looking to solidify their third receiver position for a few years now. Perhaps Dotson can fill that void. He was the 16th pick back in 2022 but has yet to make a big impact in the league and wasn't standing out in training camp with the Commanders this pre-season. Given the star-power the Eagles have at wide receiver, Dotson will need an injury to A.J. Brown or DeVonta Smith to have any significant fantasy relevance.
