It’s taken a while, but Davis is finally becoming a weekly WR
play in fantasy. Set to easily surpass his career highs in receptions,
yards and touchdowns, a host of things play into Davis’ favor this
week against Cleveland. Not only will the Browns sell out to slow
Derrick Henry and contain A.J. Brown, but the Dawgs are missing
several starters in their secondary. They got torched by the Hall
of Fame duo of Mike Glennon and Collin Johnson last week, and it
should be easy for Davis to sneak around the secondary unnoticed.
It’s hard to believe, but Ruggs was the 1st receiver selected
in the 2020 draft. While fellow rooks like Tee Higgins, CeeDee Lamb,
Justin Jefferson, and Chase Claypool have become instant difference
makers in real life and in fantasy, Ruggs just hasn’t seen many
snaps or targets. But last week, the winds of change may have begun
to blow. His 42 snaps paced the receivers, and a few dynamic plays
will certainly have gotten the attention of his coaches and quarterback.
The Jets give up a ton of explosive plays, and I think Ruggs adds
to the total.
At this point of the year anyone with a pulse is an option at
tight end! Gesicki’s targets are trending up lately, with a clean
5 in each of his past three games. He’s had 40+ yards or a score
in his last four games, and the Miami offense is devoid of playmakers
outside of DeVante Parker. Gesicki does get schemed the ball from
time to time, has athletic upside, and is facing the league’s worst
defense against fantasy tight ends. Hey, why not!

With Daniel Jones an extreme long shot to suit up this week, Evan
Engram, Darius
Slayton, Sterling
Shepard and Golden
Tate, who were already struggling to put up meaningful numbers,
will take a huge hit with Colt McCoy under center. While Jones has
a big arm, and is able to move around to create plays, McCoy isn’t
nearly as athletic, and has never been able to push the ball down
the field consistently. With a Seattle pass rush suddenly alive
(19 sacks since Week 9) look for a ton of dump offs and short throws
from this offense. However you were using these guys in your lineup,
drop them down a notch.
It's been a mighty fall for the guy who was nearly the entire
Jets passing offense over the first quarter of the season. After
seeing double digit targets in his first five games to start the
season, Crowder has been invisible since returning from injury.
His 6 receptions on 10 targets the last three weeks have produced
diddly squat, and it’s clear Perriman and Mims are just
higher in the pecking order right now. Vegas isn't a shy away
matchup, but this offense is much too dysfunctional and unpredictable
to trot Crowder out there in your lineup.
Sometimes a confluence of circumstances torpedo a players fantasy
value, and that’s exactly what’s happening to Sanders.
The return of Michael Thomas, and the insertion of Taysom Hill
into the lineup has been a deadly elixir for Sanders, who for
much of the year had been a viable WR3. With passing volume at
an all-time low, there just doesn't seem to be a short term pathway
for Sanders to produce enough to be a trusted play. With all but
two teams done with their bye weeks, fantasy rosters are nearly
at full strength. Until Brees gets back, Sanders has to stay benched.
