A tsunami of injuries made the Ravens a secondary to target last
season, and they haven’t been much better in 2022. Flacco,
Tua, and Mac Jones have torched this defense, and the weather
was a big factor in slowing Josh Allen. Burrow also dog walked
this defense last season to the tune of over 900 yards in the
air and seven touchdowns. The Bengals have regrouped to get to
.500 and this is an important game in the fight for the AFC North.
These teams easily topped 60 total points in both meetings last
season, so expect the same on Sunday.
It’s been a slow process for Rodgers and his young receivers,
but we finally see the trust he’s beginning to develop,
especially in Romeo Doubs. He and Christian Watson will be trouble
for defenses down the stretch, but the old man should have enough
juice to fire up the British crowd in London. The Giant defense
has been scrappy, but are banged up, and will likely face bad
field position all day due to their terrible offense.
A little dinged up, but coming off by far his best game in 2022,
Brady should feast at home against a determined, but undermanned
Falcon defense. Brady had nine touchdowns and over 600 yards passing
last season against this team, and with Evans looking better than
ever, and Goodwin getting healthier, Tampa should move the ball
easily in this one.
The offensive line is in shambles, the passing game isn’t
balanced and Stafford looks off mentally and physically. He seems
to be pressing, and owns a terrible 4-6 touchdown-to-interception
ratio. Screens and a healthy dose of the running game is going
to be the plan against an aggressive Dallas defense. The closer
to 30 pass attempts the better this offense seems to produce,
so look for higher upside options at the position.
Goff, Cousins, Wentz, and Lawrence aren’t exactly a murderer's
row, but this flashy Eagles defense has put the clamps on opposing
quarterbacks. It’s clear after the first few weeks that Murray
is unlikely to return the draft day investment you paid. Every
play seems to take a herculean effort from Murray and the offense
seems to languish during the first half of games. The floor is
there because of his scrambling ability, but Murray isn’t the
plug and forget fantasy player he’s been in previous seasons.
With a fresh offense, and the addition of Davante Adams, there
was some chatter about Carr taking a fantasy leap in 2022. Thus
far, it just hasn’t happened. Darren Waller isn’t
a big part of the offense, as journeyman Mack Hollins has just
as many targets (24). It feels like Carr is forcing the ball to
Adams, and struggles when he’s not open. Carr hasn’t
had a three-touchdown game since Week 5 of the 2020 season, and
I can’t see a breakout coming on the road against the Chiefs.
