The planet sometimes feels like it's off its axis, so it’s
no surprise that Daniel Jones is a top-5 fantasy quarterback.
He’s thriving in the type of run-first, play-action later
system the Giants never could surround him with. He’s not
simply dinking and dunking, but utilizing a versatile set of receivers
to make plays at every level. While Jonathan Taylor limits his
ceiling, he’s got one of the safest floors in the game.
The Steeler secondary is incredibly beatable, and this has the
makings of a multi-touchdown game for Jones.
Williams has regressed the past two weeks, sinking from a weekly
top-12 option, to a risky fill-in. He’s failed to score a touchdown
since Week 6, but gets the very generous Bengals defense this
week. Like an unattended bowl of candy on Halloween, the Jets
and Justin Fields stole the game last week against Cinci, and
Vegas has assigned this game the third-highest point total of
Week 9. With no shortage of offensive fireworks in store, Williams
might be worth a final chance.
Just short of the mid-point of the season Herbert is on pace
to approach career highs in yardage, and touchdowns. With the
return of their starting tackles last week, the Charger offense
looked transformed. Herbert plays the game like a marbled greek
god, and he should be able to stake LA to a big lead against an
overmatched Titans team.
After a Monday night drubbing to the Seahawks, Stroud and the
Houston offense bounced back against the living dead Niner defense.
Stroud's 318 yards last week was his most since Week 5 of 2024,
but don’t count on a repeat against a Denver defense allowing
the third fewest fantasy points to the position. Even with Pat
Surtain out, the Bronco pass rush will be too much to handle.
With the lowest point total of the week (39.5), it might be best
to look elsewhere for an upside quarterback. Nix and the Denver
offense is humming with 8 touchdowns in their last five quarters,
but the Houston defense has muffled the guns of opposing passing
games, holding all of their opponents under 250 yards passing.
They are also the only team in the NFL to have more interceptions
than passing touchdowns allowed.
Penix has had his moments, but he’s struggled for a majority
of the games in his sophomore season. The Falcons desperately
missed Penix last week, as veteran Kirk Cousins looked washed.
Desperate to save a fading season, Penix might be out there at
less than 100% against a surging Patriots team playing at home.
