Last week was an interesting on FanDuel. There were a few highly
owned “chalk” plays that vastly underperformed. I
made a pivot to James Starks when it became known that Eddie Lacy
would be inactive on Sunday morning. For the most part he underperformed
and it was a rough week for my (and many other peoples) cash lineups.
The best part about DFS is we can move on quickly from a poor
week and look to the next. My primary cash game lineup for FanDuel
in Week 11 is posted below. Be sure and check back later in the
week as I often update my lineup Saturday night or Sunday morning.
Below my lineup are my top value plays for Week 11.
Buffalo is going to have to unleash Tyrod Taylor in this game.
The 12 pass attempts from Week 9 will not be enough to keep up
with Tom Brady and the Patriots. In Week 2 against New England,
Taylor threw three passing touchdowns and rushed in another. Last
week was a tough matchup against the Jets but Sammy Watkins is
getting healthier every day and actually looked formidable against
Darrelle Revis. With his rushing ability, Taylor will represent
a high floor for fantasy owners in Week 11.
West may be FanDuel’s most highly owned player this weekend
after an impressive performance against the Denver Broncos in
Week 10. He will face a Chargers defense that is at the bottom
of the league defending against the run. West has averaged 25
touches per game in relief of Jamaal Charles and has shown the
ability to break long runs. Good game script should also work
in West’s favor this week.
Though I do not believe Amendola will produce identical stats
to Julian Edelman he will take over his snaps in the slot. Edelman
also spent time as the Z receiver in the Patriots offense and
Amendola does not fill that role. At his price this week, he is
a solid value play and will be very high owned in both cash and
tournaments. He should see at least seven targets against the
Bills as a core member of this potent offensive unit.
With the Chargers decimated by injuries to their receiving corps,
Philip Rivers will be looking for someone to step up and fill
the void left by Keenan Allen and Malcom Floyd. There is a chance
that Ladarius Green could miss this game as well and Antonio Gates
still may not be at full strength with his knee injury. Johnson’s
ownership may not be as high as you may think as he had an average
performance in Week 9 and is coming off a bye. But at this price,
and the fact that he should see 8-10 targets against the Chiefs,
he is a clear value play in Week 11.
Jordan Reed is averaging over eight targets in every game he
has suited up this season and at this price on FanDuel, it would
be crazy to ignore the value. Reed has shown the ability to gain
separation and is a key red zone threat in the Redskins offense.
His ownership should be lower this week as he is facing a tough
Carolina defense but I am still on him for the reasons mentioned
above. Even last week with fewer targets than usual he converted
two short touchdowns which is a great sign for his floor.
Even if not at 100 percent, Antonio Gates has to be a consideration
for the lack of weapons left in this pass-happy offense and his
role in the red zone. Rivers should rely on Gates heavily in this
game as the Chargers have struggled to run the ball effectively.
Gates has looked much less mobile since the injury but has still
seen 16 targets in the past two games.
His running between the tackles ability is still in question
but you cannot deny his speed on the outside and ability to gain
positive yards in Forte’s absence. The Denver Broncos are
reeling and gave up a big game from Charcandrick West last week.
Even if the matchup was about to scare you off all you need to
do is examine his game last week against a stout Rams defense.
Langford has three touchdowns in his two games as the Bears starter
and is playing for a job next year as well as a role when Matt
Forte returns.
Maclin is a clear value play in Week 11 coming off a bye and
a few non-stellar performances as of late. This week against San
Diego, Maclin should break some big plays against a secondary
who is content to leave their corners alone in man coverage. The
Chargers defense has given up 300 passing yards or more in each
of the last two games and I expect Maclin to be a prime beneficiary
of that trend in Week 11.
