Prescott hasn’t cracked 17 fantasy points in his last three games
(all on the road) ranking him 27th among QBs over that span, but
after watching the Eagles’ Jalen Hurts carve up the WFT secondary,
I see a big day for the Dallas offense. The Dallas signal caller
has some extreme home/road splits in 2021 and this one will be
played in Texas. He owns a 115.3 QB rating in Dallas (16 TDs -
2 INTs) and an 86.6 rating on the road (9 TDs – 8 INTs). Washington
ranks last in QB fantasy points allowed (26.3 FPts/G).
Mayfield should clear Covid-19 protocol this week as the team
heads to Wisconsin for a must-win game against the tough Packers.
The Packers offense is dynamic behind Aaron Rodgers, but their
defense, particularly against the pass, has been in a big slump.
Since Week 11 they have allowed a league-worst 30.1 FPts/G facing
the likes of Tyler Huntley, Justin Fields, Matthew Stafford and
Kirk Cousins. Jarvis Landry and Austin Hooper should also return
from the virus list to bolster the offense which will need to
score 30 points to stay with Rodgers & Co.
This is a game that only friends, family and fantasy owners will
watch. But it’s a chance for Zach Wilson to show some growth.
Since returning from injury in Week 12 he has accounted for five
touchdowns and thrown just two interceptions. With Tampa Bay and
Buffalo next up this will be the best chance left for Wilson to
show Jets fans, future free agents and fantasy owners whether
he’s a real franchise quarterback. Fortunately the Jags
pass defense doesn’t intercept the ball very often (second-worst
six INTs) and ranks 19th in fantasy points allowed over the past
three games.
OK, you aren’t going to sit Allen, but be prepared for
disappointment. The Patriots rank No. 2 against opposing fantasy
quarterbacks yielding 16.7 for the season, but since Week 11 they
have been extraordinary allowing just 10.7 FPts/G. The teams just
played two weeks ago and Allen produced just 15.2 points going
15-of-30 for 145 yards and one score.
Hill had been very good in two starts until an ugly performance
against the Bucs (13-of-27 for 154 yards and 11 fantasy points.
In Week 16 he’ll face an improving Dolphins defense which ranks
third-best since Week 11 allowing just 15.8 FPts/G. In their last
four games, the Miami defense has allowed just 20 rushing yards
to opposing QBs which included a game against Cam Newton.
It’s going to be a low-scoring defensive battle in the
cold and rain of Foxborough, MA. It certainly won’t be as
bad as the weather two weeks ago in Buffalo when Jones attempted
just three passes, but 40-degrees and rain isn’t ideal passing
weather. And neither is throwing against the No. 1 defense in
QB fantasy points allowed this season (16.3 FPts/G).
