Another week is under our belts. Trends are setting and injuries
are becoming more prevalent. There are constantly surprises and
disappointments and this week was no different. I will be back on
Thursday with Week 3's BAWM, but first lets recap my correct and
not so correct projections from Week 2.
Best
QB Jay Fiedler vs. Indianapolis (13/18,
187 yards, 2 TD, 1 INT; 7 carries, 30 yards, 1 TD)
Ricky Williams was story this week as he ran, caught and scored.
QB Jim Miller vs. Atlanta (12/24,
143 yards, 1 TD, 1 INT; 2 carries -1 yard)
Not a good passing game for Chicago at all, yet they squeaked out
a win.
RB LaDainian Tomlinson vs. Houston
(27 rushes, 84 yards; 1 catch 6 yds)
Curtis Conway, believe it or not, stole his big opportunity to get
in the end zone this week, by running it in from 3 yards out.
RB Travis Henry vs. Minnesota (12
rushes, 30 yards)
Can't expect much more when Bledsoe throws 49 times.
WR Darrell Jackson vs. Arizona
(10 catches, 174 yards)
Took advantage of the Cardinal's secondary as the Redskins did
last week.
WR Muhsin Muhammad vs. Detroit (8 catches, 107 yards, 1 TD)
After my first few projections, I gained back a little respect
with this one.
TE Bubba Franks vs. New Orleans
(1 catch, 13 yards)
Doesn't seem to be part of the offense so far.
TE Randy McMichael vs. Indianapolis
(2 catches, 34 yards)
Yardage total isn't bad, but needs more catches and looks in the
endzone.
Average
QB Drew Brees vs. Houston (15/28,
163 yards, 1 TD, 1 INT; 3 carries, 7 yds)
Defense is what carried the Chargers this week.
QB Quincy Carter vs. Tennessee (14/24. 240 yards, 2 TD; 4 carries, 7 yds)
One of the most productive fantasy quarterbacks this week, nice
rebound from last week.
RB Fred Taylor vs. Kansas City (20 rushes, 114 yards, 1 TD, 6 catches, 45 yards)
When he is healthy, he may be as good as Faulk. I stand by that!
RB Antowain Smith vs. N. Y. Jets (15 rushes, 66 yards; 1 catch, 3 yards)
This game was more about Tom Brady picking apart the defense.
WR Chris Chambers vs. Indianapolis
(4 catches, 57 yards)
A little better than last week, but not what his owners are expecting.
WR Torry Holt vs. N.Y. Giants (6
catches, 88 yards)
What is going on in St. Louis?
TE Jerramy Stevens vs. Arizona
(2 catches, 16 yards)
He is still silent after his first two games.
TE Michael Ricks vs. Carolina
(3 catches, 28 yards)
Believe it or not, lead the team in receptions this week and nearly
in yardage
Worst
QB Donovan McNabb vs. Washington (26/38, 292 yards, 2 TDs; 5 carries, 36 yds, 1 TD)
Maybe I overrated the Redskins-D just a little.
QB Kordell Stewart vs. Oakland (18/34, 201 yards, 2 TD, 1 INT; 3 carries, 10 yds)
His numbers were much better than his performance, but in Fantasy
who cares, take the TD's and run.
RB Tyrone Wheatley vs. Pittsburgh
(3 rushes, 13 yards)
Non-factor in an offensive explosion by the Raiders. Not an encouraging
sign.
RB Jamal Lewis vs. Tampa Bay
(17 rushes, 53 yards, 5 catches, 38 yards)
Not bad against the Tampa defense, another ACL victim showing
good signs.
WR Rod Gardner vs. Philadelphia
(4 catches, 63 yards)
His numbers would have been great had he held on to a 40 yard
pass that was broken up at the last second. Philly's-D is tough.
WR Willie Jackson vs. Chicago
(2 catches, 9 yards)
Maybe he should come off the bench, seems to be more productive
that way.
TE Jeremy Shockey vs. St. Louis
(4 catches, 50 yards, 1TD)
The G-men surprised us all. Shockey looked impressive in his second
pro game.
TE David Sloan vs. Green Bay (1
catch, 20 yards)
New Orleans tight-ends didn't figure in much of the offense.
