The breakout season that many fantasy football analysts have been predicting for years once again did not come to fruition for Jamison Crowder last year, as injuries to both Crowder and quarterback Alex Smith derailed the Redskins offense in 2018.
Crowder moved on to a new situation and team over the offseason with a three-year, $28 million contract that includes $17 million guaranteed, to be the slot receiver in Adam Gase's offense with the Jets.
Although much maligned in the fantasy community for how he treated skill position players like Kenyan Drake and DeVante Parker in Miami, Gase has a long history of producing viable slot receivers in his passing offense.

Sam Darnold out for Week 2, illness Will miss game with mononucleosis By: Mike Krueger | Thu Sep 12, 10:30 am

| | Sam Darnold has mononucleosis and is out for Monday Night Football vs. Cleveland. (Adam Schefter on Twitter)
FFToday's Take: It's possible Darnold could miss Week 3 as well given the illness. The Jets have a bye in Week 4. Trevor Siemian is expected to start against the Browns on Monday Night Football. This will devalue the Jets' offensive players with the hardest hit being Robby Anderson. Jamison Crowder is still a solid WR3 play especially in PPR leagues.

| Quincy Enunwa out for the year, neck injury Second serious neck injury for Enunwa By: Mike Krueger | Wed Sep 11, 10:30 am

| | The Jets will be without starting wide receiver Quincy Enunwa for the rest of the season, The Post has learned.
Enunwa suffered a neck injury in Sunday’s season-opening loss to the Bills and will not be able to return this year. This is the second serious neck injury Enunwa has suffered. He missed the entire 2017 season after injuring his neck in training camp that year. It is unclear whether this injury is considered career-threatening. (New York Post)
FFToday's Take: This would explain the trade for Demaryius Thomas yesterday. Enunwa signed a four-year, $36 million contract extension in December. Josh Bellamy may get some extra run with Enunwa out but Robby Anderson and Jamison Crowder should continue to be the focal points in the passing offense.
