2022 Outlook
Depth Chart
There have long been comparisons drawn between Hardman and former teammate Hill due primarily to their respective size and speed. To date, Hardman has yet to show he's more than a pale imitation. That's not to say he's without value. The speedster is a threat to take it to the house every time he gets the ball in his hands, and he could certainly inherit some of Hill's line-of-scrimmage targets where the team essentially says, "here's the ball, do something with it."

Then again, the Chiefs seemed to place a premium on getting bigger at the position, signing MVS (6-foot-4, 206 pounds) and Smith-Schuster (6-foot-1, 215 pounds), and drafting Moore, who packs an additional 15 pounds onto his 5-foot-10 frame versus Hardman. It seems doubtful that the Chiefs would phase Hardman out completely, but it's best to take a wait-and-see approach until some clarity is gained on what role he'll fill. Add him to your watch list.

Injury Chiefs activate Clyde Edwards-Helaire from IR
Mecole Hardman Out for Super Bowl LVII
By: Mike Krueger | Mon Feb 6, 12:53 pm

Kansas City Chiefs
Chiefs activated RB Clyde Edwards-Helaire from Reserve/Injured. They also placed WR Mecole Hardman on Reserve/Injured. (Adam Schefter on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: The Chiefs have been quiet regarding the exact nature of Hardman's pelvic injury which has bothered him ever since Week 9. He aggravated the injury trying to play in the AFC Championship game and will now miss the Super Bowl. JuJu Smith-Schuster is bothered by a knee injury and remains Questionable. It doesn't seem likely that CEH will have any kind of significant role behind Isiah Pacheco and Jerick McKinnon even is he is active on gameday.

Injury Injury update on Chiefs wide receivers
Mecole Hardman unlikely to play
By: Mike Krueger | Thu Feb 2, 1:03 pm

Kansas City Chiefs
Reid was particularly optimistic that among the injured players Kadarius Toney and JuJu Smith-Schuster would be able to play in the Super Bowl. On JuJu, Reid said, "He's in a good place." Reid was not optimistic about Mecole Hardman. "I doubt he'll make the Super Bowl." (Adam Teicher on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: It sounds like Hardman is likely to be on the Inactive list for Super Bowl but Toney and JuJu have a decent shot of playing. Marquez Valdes-Scantling, Skyy Moore and Justin Watson - who missed last week due to illness - are likely to be in the mix as well. It's almost impossible to predict with accuracy the wide receiver distribution on any given week for the Chiefs.

Injury Travis Kelce added to injury report, Mahomes not listed
Back injury for Kelce
By: Mike Krueger | Fri Jan 27, 4:02 pm

Kansas City Chiefs
The Chiefs added Travis Kelce to their injury report with a back injury and listed him as questionable for Sunday's game. Mecole Hardman and Justin Watson (illness) are also questionable. Patrick Mahomes has no injury designation, so he's good to go. (Adam Teicher on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: Despite his absence from the report, Mahomes will be bothered by his ankle sprain suffered in last week's game against Jacksonville. How much it will hamper his mobility is the big question. Kelce did practice fully on Friday and there's been no indication that he's in danger of missing this game.

Injury Kadarius Toney expected to play
Hamstring injury
By: Mike Krueger | Sat Dec 17, 11:47 pm

Kansas City Chiefs
Chiefs’ WR Kadarius Toney, listed as questionable for Sunday due to a hamstring injury, is expected to play vs. the Texans, per source. The Chiefs also expect WR Mecole Hardman to return off injured reserve from his abdominal injury Saturday vs. Seattle, per source. (Adam Schefter on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: Toney hasn't played since Week 11 due to a hamstring injury. Assuming there are no restrictions, he'll be hard to trust as a Flex option given the Chiefs offense likes to spread the ball around. Toney will be battling for targets with JuJu Smith-Schuster, Marquez Valdes-Scantling, Justin Watson and Skyy Moore at receiver.

Injury Mecole Hardman lands on IR, out four games
Abdomen injury
By: Mike Krueger | Thu Nov 17, 4:54 pm

Kansas City Chiefs
Chiefs have placed Mecole Hardman on injured reserve. Has to miss at least the next 4 games. (Adam Teicher on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: Hardman missed Week 10 with an abdomen injury and now is listed with an illness. His absence should open up more opportunities for Kadarius Toney especially with JuJu Smith-Schuster likely to miss due to a concussion sustained in Week 10. After playing 73% of the snaps last week, Justin Watson should continue to see significant action as well.

Injury Mecole Hardman Out, Jerick McKinnon Questionable
Hardman missed practice all week
By: Mike Krueger | Fri Nov 11, 3:16 pm

Kansas City Chiefs
The final injury report of the week is now out and the Chiefs have listed Mecole Hardman as out for Sunday's game against Jaguars. Jerick McKinnon is questionable with shoulder and knee injuries. (Adam Teicher on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: Harman missed practice all week with an abdomen injury while McKinnon was added to the injury report Friday with a hamstring issue. If McKinnon gets ruled out Sunday, running back snaps will be split between Clyde Edwards-Helaire and Isiah Pacheco. Expect Kadarius Toney and Skyy Moore to pickup the slack for Hardman but neither are going to be trustworthy in your lineup.
