2023 Outlook
Depth Chart
After a historic two year start to his career, Jefferson was somehow even better last season. Blasting off to a 128-1809-9 season, Jefferson was simply unrecoverable for stretches of the season, including a dominant three-game stretch from Week 14-16 that likely propelled his fantasy owners to league titles. After the Hall of Fame start to his career, there isn't much fantasy analysis necessary here, as he is the consensus No.1 receiver. But I'd be remiss if I didn't raise an eyebrow after watching Jefferson reduced to a mere moral in the final weeks of the season. 1-15-0 against the Packers, was followed up with a 4-38 dud in Week 18. When it mattered most in the playoffs, the Giants secondary was able to blanket the eventual Offensive Player of the Year, holding him to 47 empty yards on seven receptions. That three-game stretch was by far the worst of his young career, and was enough for the Vikings to upgrade the receiving core to take pressure off of Jefferson. Don't overthink things, just hope you somehow get a shot to draft him.

Vikings sticking with Joshua Dobbs at QB
Justin Jefferson expected back in Week 14
By: Mike Krueger | Wed Dec 6, 12:56 pm

Minnesota Vikings
The #Vikings are sticking with Joshua Dobbs as their starting QB this week against the #Raiders, per me and @RapSheet. The team mulled a possible change over the bye. But with All-Pro WR Justin Jefferson back this week, the “Passtronaut” finally gets to play with full weaponry. (Tom Pelissero on X)

FFToday's Take: Dobbs threw 4 interceptions in Week 12 which gave the Vikings coaching staff something to think about during their bye week. In the end, Dobbs will get the call this week with Jefferson back in the mix at WR. Dobbs profiles as a mid-range QB2 against the Raiders.

Injury Justin Jefferson deemed questionable for Week 12
Sidelined since Week 5 with hamstring strain
By: Doug Orth | Mon Nov 20, 7:20 pm

Minnesota Vikings
Kevin O'Connell termed WR Justin Jefferson as "questionable" for next Monday's game vs. Bears. He also acknowledged "we do have to be smart" about bringing him back, knowing the Vikings have their bye the following week and could get add a "free" week to his 21-day window. (ESPN.com - Kevin Seifert)

FFToday's Take: The "free" week may be the deciding factor here, as Minnesota will probably decide it is better to be 100 percent sure about Jefferson's hamstring than risk a setback. Fantasy managers probably need to see Jefferson log a full practice at some point this week to have any realistic hope of seeing him on the field in Week 12. The other problem here is the Vikings playing on Monday night. While Jefferson is most definitely worth the wait, the early signs point to the stud wideout not returning until Week 14.

Injury K.J. Osborn unlikely to play, Hockenson limited
Vikings running out of pass catchers
By: Mike Krueger | Sun Nov 12, 8:31 am

Minnesota Vikings
#Vikings expect TE T.J. Hockenson to play today vs. #Saints but still affected by his rib/oblique injury. He won’t play as many snaps as normal but will be on field in key situations. WR K.J. Osborn is unlikely to play despite clearing concussion protocol. Coach-player decision. (Ed Werder on X)

FFToday's Take: The Vikings are running out of pass-catchers. Justin Jefferson and Osborn are out and now it sounds like Hockenson is going to be limited. Unless you have a strong backup, Hockenson is still in play this week at the tight end position. Brandon Powell should see more volume with Osborn on the shelf.

Injury Torn Achilles likely for Kirk Cousins
MRI will be taken to confirm
By: Mike Krueger | Sun Oct 29, 4:40 pm

Minnesota Vikings
Kirk Cousins tore his Achilles today, per source. An MRI will be taken to confirm. (Adam Schefter on X)

FFToday's Take: Bad news for Cousins and the Vikings. Jaren Hall came in went 3 of 4 for 23 yards in relief. Minnesota have been without Justin Jefferson (hamstring) since Week 6 and will now likely be without Cousins for the remainder of the season.

Injury Justin Jefferson expected to be placed on IR
Hamstring injury
By: Mike Krueger | Tue Oct 10, 7:11 am

Minnesota Vikings
The #Vikings plan to place WR Justin Jefferson on injured reserve because of the hamstring injury he suffered in Sunday’s loss to Kansas City, per sources. The exact timeline is TBD based on how he responds to treatment. But Jefferson is out at least four games. (Tom Pelissero on X)

FFToday's Take: Ouch. The Vikings offense is based around Jefferson so they'll have to make-do without their best offensive weapon. Brandon Powell saw a 30.6% snap share against the Chiefs last week and will likely see more playing time moving forward. However, Jordan Addison, K.J. Osborn and TE T.J. Hockenson are likely to be the top targets for Kirk Cousins while Jefferson is out.

Injury Justin Jefferson suffers hamstring injury in Week 5
WR still undergoing tests
By: Doug Orth | Mon Oct 9, 3:20 pm

Minnesota Vikings
Kevin O'Connell is saying that Justin Jefferson is still going through tests on the hamstring. Said Jefferson is "down" today given his competitiveness and that the team will have to make sure it protects him "from himself." (ESPN.com - Kevin Seifert)

FFToday's Take: With O'Connell already invoking the "protecting him from himself" coachspeak, fantasy managers should prepare for Jefferson to miss at least one game and as many as three if it is a mild strain. For what it is worth, Jefferson has yet to miss a game in his four-year career. If Jefferson is forced to sit in Week 6 against the Bears, expect Jordan Addison to perform at a high-end WR2 level and K.J. Osborn to be worth starting in fantasy. T.J. Hockenson could also be more of a target hog than he already is.
