Garrett Wilson is poised for a massive 2025, with Davante Adams' departure to the Rams leaving him as the unquestioned WR1. Wilson's 2024 season (101 catches, 1,104 yards, 7 TDs) allowed him to showcase his ability to produce despite quarterback struggles. With Fields, his college teammate, now at QB, Wilson could realistically see 140-150 targets, potentially even leading the NFL in target share. The Jets simply do not have another proven pass-catching producer in the offense, other than low-tier veterans like Josh Reynolds and running back Breece Hall who is solid for a player coming out of the backfield but certainly won't push Wilson for targets.
While Fields' inconsistent passing adds some risk, he does have history of delivering the fantasy goods to at least his top target. DJ Moore quietly finished as the WR6 in 2023 despite Fields' struggles, suggesting that Wilson could thrive, especially in the slot-heavy scheme of OC Tanner Engstrand. Wilson's ADP as a low-end WR1 or high-end WR2 feels like a steal as he should be able to deliver an excellent floor with a realistic ceiling of top-five production.

Garrett Wilson lands on IR, knee injury Jets passing game at an all-time low By: Mike Krueger | Thu Nov 13, 4:23 pm

| | WR Garrett Wilson (knee) has been placed on injured reserve, #Jets announce. He will miss at least 4 games. First IR stint in his career. This is an opportunity for the young WRs. Eager to see Adonai Mitchell, who was inactive last week. You’ll see a lot of Arian Smith and John Metchie over the second half. (Rich Cimini on X)
FFToday's Take: The earliest Wilson will be able to return is Week 15 against the Jaguars. In the meantime, the Jets will rely on a bunch of mediocre options at the position. Given how inept the passing game has been, none of Smith, Mitchell, Metchie or Tyler Johnson are worth starting in fantasy leagues.

| Garrett Wilson likely to miss at least a month WR suffered knee sprain in Week 10 By: Doug Orth | Mon Nov 10, 11:30 pm

| | Bad news for the #Jets offense: WR Garrett Wilson is expected to miss at least 3-4 weeks with a knee sprain, source says. Good news is no surgery, just rehab. (ESPN.com - Rich Cimini)
FFToday's Take: Wilson just returned from a three-game absence from a hyperextended knee. Given the combination of the time he is expected to miss, the Jets' record (2-7) and upcoming opponents (specifically, the Patriots and Ravens over the next two weeks), New York could just decide to sit him for the rest of the season. The Jets don't have great alternatives, but Tyler Johnson or Adonai Mitchell will likely emerge as the top receiver on this team. Wilson's absence could also allow Mason Taylor to be the featured pass-catcher in this offense.

| Garrett Wilson expected to miss a game or two Suffered hyperextended knee in Week 6 By: Doug Orth | Mon Oct 13, 11:00 pm

| | An MRI today revealed that Jets WR Garrett Wilson hyperextends his knee and he now is expected to miss, as one source said, “a couple of weeks.” (ESPN - Adam Schefter)
FFToday's Take: The Jets entered this season with arguably the worst receiving corps in the league. Without Wilson, there is no question about it. Josh Reynolds, Tyler Johnson and Allen Lazard, assuming the personal reason that kept him from playing Week 6 has been dealt with, will likely be Justin Fields' top three wideouts in Week 7 against the Panthers and Week 8 versus the Bengals heading into the team's Week 9 bye. Fantasy managers should expect a heavy reliance on Breece Hall and Mason Taylor over that stretch.
