While this New York offense has been a barren wasteland of fantasy
production this season, Hyatt has certainly had some highlights.
He missed out on a few big plays last week due to offensive line
penalties, but more importantly he saw his snap count rise to
73% after sitting in the 30’s early in the year. The Commander
secondary is dreadful, and I see Hyatt getting loose in the secondary
for his first NFL score. It’s risky, but the bye week massacre
is here.
It took a bit, but Pickens finally had a true breakout in Week
5, popping off for a 6-130-1 line, tying a career and season high
with 10 targets. With the bye week to continue to tweak the offense,
look for Pickens to be the straw that stirs the drink. I’m
still leery about Kenny Pickett, but as long as he keeps taking
shots downfield to Pickens, who cares!
Davis entered Week 6 on a four-game touchdown streak, but like
much of the offense, laid an egg against the Giants. The Patriot
way on defense has been to take away a quarterback's best receiver,
so look for Billy B. to bottle up Stefon Diggs forcing Allen to
look elsewhere. That second option will be Davis.
With Cleveland’s defense clamping down on offenses at a
historic rate, and Garder Minshew being careless with the ball,
this is a rough spot for Pittman and the Colt offense. Although
he had probably his best game of the year in Week 6, and has the
5th most targets in the league, I expect a low ceiling game.
It’s nice to see Thomas return to health this season after it
looked like his career was on the ropes, but it’s clear he’s got
little left in the tank. Sure he’s 19th in the NFL in receptions,
but he’s only got an empty 329 yards to show for it (34th in the
NFL). The big play ability is gone, and he’s been passed by Chris
Olave as the alpha in the passing game. The Saints offense is
a mess and missing starting lineman this week to boot.
After a surprisingly good start to the season Brown and the Cardinal
offense has faded a bit. With more tape for defensive coordinators
to watch, they’ve found ways to harass and confuse Josh
Dobbs. Brown is still seeing good volume, but has only hauled
in 8 of his last 21 targets, a catch rate of only 38%. With their
timing off, and stud rookie DB Devon Witherspoon in coverage,
keep your expectations in the low-tier WR3 range.
