Though Lawrence and the Jags had control of the Texans for most
of last Sunday’s contest, they failed on several 2nd half drives
that could have put away the game. Lawrence, who still struggles
to complete passes efficiently, did have some quality throws against
a tough Texan team. Week 5 is this offense’s last chance to get
right as they face a Colts team that is fresh off allowing a 300-yard
day to Justin Fields, and who has yielded the 2nd most fantasy points
to the position.
The desire to prove people wrong is a natural human trait, and
despite what Sam Darnold will say in the media this week, he wants
this one badly. The Jets are reeling after an ugly loss to Denver,
and will be motivated by the Darnold narrative as well, but Sam
has the superior coaching staff and skill position support. In
a down year for fantasy quarterback play, continue to fire Darnold
up as a QB1.
Despite the rash of injuries to the roster, Purdy has put this
team on his back and is playing with a swagger and confidence
backed up by a real zip on the ball. He’s gone over 280
yards in the air for three-straight, and with Kittle and Deebo
back in the fold, the offense should continue to click. The Cards
have a nifty offense, but a defense that’s struggling to
contain the opposition.
Daniels is off to an all-time start and his dual-threat nature
gives him a high floor, but the Cleveland defense offers the biggest
challenge so far in his young career. He struggled at times against
an athletic Giants defensive front, and the Browns lead the NFL
with 16 sacks. I’m still starting him, but more as a low-end
QB1.
This Cowboy offense is a one trick pony, as they have no real
threat of a running game, and the passing game is Lamb or bust.
Dallas is going to pull its hair out trying to block T.J. Watt,
and the Gold and Black should be rowdy at home in this primetime
game of historic franchises.
The Red Rifle took a step back from his bombastic debut in Week
3 as the Panthers took a 10-point loss to the Bengals. Taking
nothing away from the 36-year-old vet, this is more about how
good the Chicago defense has looked. They are 3rd in the NFL in
sacks, 4th in interceptions and 2nd best against the pass, giving
up a paltry two passing touchdowns so far this season. Quarterbacks
haven’t passed 17 fantasy points in any game vs. the Bears.
