Harris has returned to the high volume, low efficiency player
he has been for a majority of his career. His 68 carries this
season have only yielded 228 yards, but he continues to dominate
touches in a decimated backfield. This one is all about the matchup,
as the Dallas defense was getting shredded on the ground even
before losing Parsons and Lawrence to lower leg injuries. Even
with the lack of production and a banged-up o-line, a 20-touch
floor is enough to get Harris in all lineups.
In a near 50-50 carry split with Zach Moss, Brown stood out,
showing a burst this backfield has lacked for several seasons.
His two goal line scores have proved the Bengals trust him in
short yardage situations. Moss will suppress his upside, but his
lofty 6.3 yards-per-carry average is hard to ignore, and he is
a better matchup for the athletic linebackers of the Ravens.
The plan of easing Hunt into the offense disappeared when rookie
Carson Steele fumbled the ball away early in the 1st quarter.
From that point on Hunt was the main man in the backfield, and
he responded with 85 total yards. Any lack of burst or big play
ability will be offset by three-down ability, and the trust of
the coaches.
Plus-matchup aside, Jacobs has seen his snap count tumble over
the last several weeks. Emanuel Wilson has impressed in his limited
snaps, and the Pack seem intent on giving Wilson a bigger piece
of the pie which limits JJ to a more of a low end RB2.
Kamara has been a revelation in this new Saints offense, but
he’s facing an absolute buzzsaw in the KC defense. Spags’
unit has chewed up and spit out some of the best running games
in the NFL, holding all rushers to game high of 46 yards. Nursing
a body injury, Kamara is going to have to generate points in the
passing game to really have a fantasy impact.
Coming off by far his worst game of the season, Singletary also
picked up a groin injury and missed practice this week. With Nabers
(concussion) banged up, this offense could be short staffed this
week against a Seahawk defense that has been decent against the
run recently. At less than 100%, the G-Men may also look to get
promising rookie Tyrone Tracy some more reps.
