In his first action “post Javonte Williams,” Gordon out-touched
Mike Boone 18-10 and 103 combined yards to 85. Teams love to use
their backs against the Chargers both rushing (100-619-5) and
receiving (31-191-3) producing a league worst 32 FPts/G. Gordon
can do both.
Stevenson was already out-snapping Damien Harris and now Harris
is likely sidelined for multiple weeks with a hamstring injury.
There is no challenge to Stevenson seeing 20-25 touches and when
you add in the Browns’ 29th-ranked fantasy running back defense
you get a monster day.
If James Conner is sidelined with his rib injury, it’s likely
that Benjamin will get the majority of the workload (8-25-1 rushing
and 3-28 receiving against Philadelphia following the Conner injury).
That’s good news when that workload is against the Seahawks who
have allowed 29.2 FPts/G to opposing RBs. This handcuff could
work… at least for this weekend.
After three mediocre games, McCaffrey has produced 49.2 fantasy
points in two weeks. However, the Rams are No.1 against opposing
running backs allowing just 16.4 FPts/G. In particular, they have
allowed just 15 receptions and no receiving scores. The Panthers
figure to be behind and if this game gets out of hand, CMC could
end up watching the fourth quarter from the sidelines. Or, he
could catch 12 balls for 180 yards and three scores, but I think
the former is more likely.
Owners who start Alvin Kamara hate Taysom Hill. I know I do.
He was bad for Kamara’s fantasy value as a quarterback and last
week as a “tight end” he again “stole” red zone touchdown opportunities
from him. Add in the Bengals rank No.2 against opposing fantasy
backs and that’s a recipe for a bad outcome.
The Steelers offense is nowhere and so is running back Najee
Harris. Harris hasn’t cracked 10 points since Week 3 and
hasn’t posted 20 points this season. Rookie quarterback
Kenny Pickett threw just four balls his way last week despite
throwing 52 times. The “new guy” obviously prefers
his receiving corps. Meanwhile, the Bucs’ run defense is
formidable, allowing just 17.3 FPts/G. This isn’t going
to be Harris’ breakout game.
