The Seattle pass defense has been really bad through three games
(55.4 FPts/G), allowing seven double-digit games, including a
31.5 day by veteran Adam Thielen. As bad as the Seahawks’ defense
has been, the Giants passing offense has been equally inept. Something
has to give when these two meet. I’m selecting Darius Slayton
to wake up Monday night and catch at least one ball over the top
of the defense. Of course, it might be speedster Jalin Hyatt,
but Slayton is getting the most looks to date.
Assuming Garoppolo plays, the combination of Adams and Meyers
should have a field day against the Chargers porous pass defense.
They have allowed 55.1 fantasy points a game and a league-leading
six receiving touchdowns to wideouts. Both Meyers (22.3 FPts/G)
and Adams (25.1) are top-five after three weekends. This game
should only help their totals, though all bets are off if Hoyer
is under center.
Thielen welcomes his old team to Carolina in Week 4 after his
best performance since November of 2020 with an 11-145-1 effort
against Seattle. Meanwhile, the Vikings are allowing 52.0 FPts/G
to opposing receivers. D.J. Chark could join in the fun, but Thielen
has been more efficient. If rookie Bryce Young (ankle) returns
to action and forces Andy Dalton back to the bench, lower your
expectations here.
It should be obvious by now that I want you to stay away from
all Ravens players against this tough Browns defense. That includes
the rookie Flowers, who admittedly has been playing very well
so far and has become Jackson’s favorite target after tight
end Mark Andrews. But there is a reason the Ravens total number
is set at just 19.5 points – they aren’t expected
to be able to move the ball against this defense. Last season,
in two games, the Ravens managed just 220 yards passing. That’s
total, not average.
Bourne leads the Patriots wide receiver room in targets (25),
receptions (14), touchdowns (2) and fantasy points per game (13.3).
But that’s extremely deceiving since almost all of that
came in Week 1 against Philadelphia. The Cowboys are third-best
in allowing receiver points, just 25.1 per game. They are averaging
four sacks a night and just 156.3 passing yards per contest. Arizona
ran through Dallas last week and the Patriots will likely try
to do the same thing.
The 49ers’ pass defense has allowed zero touchdown passes
to wideouts this season. They are the only club who can claim
that fact. Without getting into the end zone it’s hard to
put up any type of quality fantasy total. Brown has yet to crack
65 yards receiving this season and without a touchdown he’s
likely to disappoint you.
