The Cowboys run defense is on an ugly pace, “leading” the league
in rushing yards allowed (185.7) at a 5.4 ypc clip. Singletary
has improved every week, so we like the progression to continue
for one more game. Singletary is out-touching the rest of the
Giants running back room by a 42-11 margin. As long as the game
remains close, the running back should see 16-20 touches and that
works for me.
Most times, it’s a favorable matchup for your running back
against Carolina. In 2023, they allowed a league-high 21 rushing
touchdowns. They are still not very good against the run in 2024,
ranking 27th in running back fantasy points. Things got “all
shook up” last week against Las Vegas with the Panthers
offense coming alive behind the “Red Rifle” Andy Dalton,
and a big lead meant the Raiders had to throw more than run, but
things should return to “normal” in Week 4.
The Dolphins run defense has already allowed five rushing touchdowns
and six total scores to opposing running backs. So we will take
Pollard against the Miami defense. Until last weekend Pollard
was seeing a consistent 20 touches per game, but a blowout score
left him lacking in Week 3. The Miami offense, without a quality
quarterback under center, isn’t going to blowout any team.
Pollard does damage this weekend.
Walker is doubtful for Week 4 (oblique) leaving the position
all to Charbonnet, but that’s not going to be a boon to his totals
against the No.1 run defense in the league. The Lions have allowed
just 46 ypg to opposing backs. Even worse, they have allowed just
five catches for 17 yards, which is an area where Charbonnet excels.
Kyren Williams managed 14.4 fantasy points in the opener, but
Rachaad White and James Conner couldn’t crack four points.
No, I suspect you are not going to sit Jonathan Taylor in any
week as long as he is healthy. I know I’m not and I have plenty
of shares in “JT.” But I’m also not expecting him to do much against
the tough Steelers defense which has yet to yield a single touchdown
to a back, running or receiving, and just 60 yards-per-game.
Dobbins returned to earth in Week 3 after two huge games to start
the season. He managed just 44 rushing yards against the Steelers
after cracking 130 yards in his first two games as a Charger.
The Chiefs have actually allowed fewer rushing yards and fewer
receiving yards to backs than the Steelers. If the injury to Justin
Herbert keeps him out of the game, the one-dimensional Chargers
are not going to score much.
