Outlook: One of the new additions to this Giants offense, Parris Campbell joins the team after a disappointing stint with the Colts. A former first-round NFL Draft pick, Campbell suffered multiple setbacks but never really established himself as anything more than a role player on his first team.
Campbell did, however, finally show a bit of promise this past year when he set career highs in receptions (63), yards (623), and touchdowns (3). Much of that was due to the fact that he finally played a full season, manning the slot for the Colts in what was a fairly low-volume offense. He's now expected to take over the slot, at least to start the season, for the Giants. That role has produced some decent numbers in the New York offense in the past, but it's worth noting that Campbell will almost certainly have competition for the role once Sterling Shepard or Wan'Dale Robinson - or both - return from their ACL injuries.
A player like Campbell can be valuable in deeper leagues where it's difficult to find receivers who project to see significant roles to start the season. There's a good chance that Campbell could be playing the majority of snaps for the Giants early in the year and he's going to go undrafted in a lot of leagues. The high-end upside likely isn't there at this point, but Campbell should be on the radar for fantasy managers in deep PPR formats.

Outlook: With Allen and Williams spending a fair amount of time in the training room last year, Palmer emerged to finish second on the club in both receptions (72) and receiving yards (769), more than doubling his rookie output in both areas. His potential value took a massive hit with the selection of Johnston, but Palmer did enough in 2022 that he could be placed on your watch list in case the Allen/Williams combo are beset by injuries again (or Johnston is slow to transition to the pro game).

Outlook: When Raiders Pro Bowl tight end Darren Waller went down with an injury last season, receiver Mack Hollins took over his target share. Hollins hauled in 57 receptions for 690 yards and four touchdowns in 2022 - all career highs. The Raiders let him walk in free agency which allowed Hollins to find his fourth home in Atlanta this offseason.
Hollins is expected to be a WR2 once again, but with the amount of talent around him, his target share will likely go down. An argument could be made that having more talent around you may shift the defensive focus away, but that mentality is only meant for some of the best WR2s and tight ends in football.
Hollins isn't likely to be drafted given he's probably fourth in line for targets (behind Bijan) in this low-volume passing attack. However, due to his success last season, he'll be a waiver wire addition should anything happen to London or Pitts.

Outlook: After being selected with the 44th overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, Houston Texans receiver John Metchie hoped to make an immediate impact, despite tearing his ACL in the SEC Championship game a few months before. However, on July 24, just days before training camp, Metchie was diagnosed with acute promyelocytic leukemia, sidelining him for his entire rookie campaign. Thankfully, Metchie's condition has immensely improved and he has participated in Houston's voluntary minicamp in late April and is expected to start in 2023.
Metchie hauled in 96 receptions for 1,142 yards and eight touchdowns during his final year at Alabama, finishing in the top 10 among SEC receivers in each category. The Crimson Tide product's route-running abilities are top tier as he's proficient at getting open on all three levels. However, it can be argued that Metchie's best assets are his hands. The soon-to-be 23-year-old (July 18) had just 15 drops on 171 targets throughout his collegiate career and excelled at hauling in passes when under heavy pressure.
Working out of the slot, Metchie can have some value in PPR leagues, but will start out as a late-round pick in fantasy football drafts and probably won't see much time starting in your lineups. However, if you give him a year or two, the cancer survivor could be on the rise due to his route running and inability to drop the ball.

Outlook: The biggest "mystery box" in this group of wide receivers has to be rookie Jalin Hyatt. Hyatt did almost nothing during his first two seasons at Tennessee, but exploded in his final year, catching 67 passes for 1,267 yards and a whopping 15 touchdowns. He then turned in an excellent 4.40-second 40-yard dash time at the NFL Scouting Combine, although his slender frame at 176 pounds is certainly a bust risk factor. It's not often that we see players who are physically built like DeVonta Smith break out at the NFL level, but it can happen and therefore it's not fair to write Hyatt off quite yet.
Still, Hyatt is more of a dynasty lottery ticket than he is a player we should be targeting in 2023. The Giants' wide receiver room might lack superstar talent, but it is quite deep and full of players who've at least shown themselves to be NFL-caliber pass catchers. Hyatt could end up being the best of the bunch, eventually, but we shouldn't be banking on that until we see him start to earn some playing time.
