One dimensional, and not exactly efficient with his carries (3.4
y.p.c), Conner still has five rushing touchdowns in the first
six games, and is sure to have a positive game script against
a Houston team getting absolutely gashed by running backs. The
Texans have yielded the 6th most fantasy points to the position,
making Conner an acceptable RB2 this week.
I realize this season has been a disaster for Sanders and the
Eagle running game. He’s yet to find the endzone, and still
isn’t seeing double digit carries on a consistent basis,
but there are signs things could get better. Jalen Hurts is proving
to be a dual threat, defenses have to respect, and I have to believe
this is the week Philly can and will establish a ground game.
A lack of meaningful touches, and not performance or ability is
holding back Sanders. Look for him to notch his first touchdown
against the Raiders.
Coming off a two touchdown performance and on a Week 7 decimated
by injuries and bye weeks, Williams has to be considered a strong
RB2 play against Tennessee. The Titans, on a short week, after
an emotional Monday night win will allow KC to move the ball at
will, putting Williams in a prime position to score. He was already
the preferred redzone back, and now with guaranteed work outside
the 20’s, he’ll be a solid performer until the return
of Edwards-Helaire.
Collins put up a hearty performance Sunday night against a stingy
Steelers run defense, posting 100+ yards and a score, but a late
game hip injury is sure to slow him down this week. Beat up on
the road with Rashaad Penny fresh off the confines of IR is not
the recipe for a fantasy start, even in a desperate Week 7. If
you start Collins you'll have to hope for a touchdown miracle,
as yardage accumulation seems incredibly unlikely.
Things have veered slightly off course for Williams after a big
Week 1. Despite whispers he could make this a nearly even timeshare
with D’Andre Swift, injuries and ineffectiveness have drained
Williams of his fantasy value. He had a season low 5 touches in
a rout vs the Bengals last week, and another beating at the hands
of the Rams is likely this week. There just hasn’t been
enough there to trust the former Packer.
If it feels like I’m picking on the Bears this week, it’s
because I am. They are a terrible offensive team in the midst
of a 5-year identity crisis, with an offensive head coach that
is so bad he gave up play call duties. To make matters worse for
Williams (Covid-19 list), no-name Khalil Herbert looked pretty
beefy last week, and is sure to command some premium touches even
if Williams is cleared. I haven’t even mentioned how dreadful
the match-up is against one of best run defenses in the NFL. I
think you get the idea.
