Since entering the starting lineup in Week 7, Wilson has been
a top-10 option and has piled up seven total touchdowns (six in
the air and one rushing) while giving this Steeler offense a threatening
passing game. Baltimore’s secondary hasn’t stopped
anyone, and they will likely be without their best defensive player
in Kyle Hamilton. The Raven pass defense is a serious Achilles
heel, and until they stop someone, roll out all your quarterbacks
and receivers against them.
This offense is due for a breakout. Since his return three games
ago, Tua has been efficient, but the explosive plays have been
lacking. After a few tough matchups, the newly revitalized Dolphins
get a rested, but rag-tag Raiders’ defense who hasn’t passed the
eye test, and whose advanced metrics put them in the lower half
of the league. Miami can’t afford a dud with a 3-7 record.
I have to keep beating the drum for Nix, as he took a huge step
in his development in a near upset of the Chiefs last week. Not
only did he protect the ball, but he led his team to the doorstep
of victory on the road against the champs. His improved pocket
presence and accuracy lines up incredibly well with a Falcon defense
yielding the highest completion percentage (70.3) in the league.
After a hot start, Darnold has largely crashed back down to earth
in the last month as he’s tossed 6 touchdowns and just as
many picks in the last four games. As comical as the offense has
played at times, the Titan defense, especially the pass defense,
has been stout, yielding the fewest passing yards in the NFL.
Carr was back to his gunslinging ways last week, tossing bombs
to the only Saints receiver with a pulse, Marques Valdez-Scantling.
Expecting MVS to repeat anything close to the 3-103-2 line from
last week is absolute folly, and the Cleveland defense should
be rested and ready to wreck this undermanned offense.
Mahomes’s fantasy value has certainly seen a boost since
the addition of DHop, but even with their new toy, this KC offense
still skews as more of a plodding methodical unit, than a quick
hitting explosive one. The Buffalo defense has only allowed two
quarterbacks to reach 250+ yards, and have picked off 11 passes,
while only giving up 13 touchdowns, and Mahomes has been turnover
prone this season.
