Let’s make it 3 for 3 for Denver! There is something about
Atlanta’s defense that just doesn’t sit well with
me, and Sutton has been on a heater the last three games. In those
contests he’s seen 30 targets, and has turned them into
21 receptions for 292 yards and a touchdown. As Nix has improved,
Sutton’s usage and efficiency numbers have skyrocketed.
The defensive metrics for the Bears point to a down week for
Reed, but with the team in shambles, and the Packers coming off
a bye with a rested and healed Jordan Love, Reed is in play. Despite
a target share that barely cracks the top-40, Reed is a dynamite
playmaker that gets the ball schemed his way several times a week
and his own efficiency metrics are nothing to scoff at. I feel
a boom week coming in this classic rivalry.
Jennings looked strong in his return from a two-game absence,
busting Tampa for a 7-93 line on 11 targets. Yeah, the Bucs secondary
is terrible, but Jennings looks to be filling the X role vacated
by the injured Brandon Aiyuk. There are tons of mouths to feed
in this offense again, but Jennings has earned his share. Fire
him up as a weekly upside WR3 against a Seattle defense that has
yet to find its footing.
We’re still not sure what to expect from Cooper after he
played just a few snaps in his first game with the Bills, before
missing the last two with a wrist injury. I’m skeptical
he’s been able to get enough reps in with Josh Allen, and
the K.C. defense is one of the best in the NFL. I’m sure
Buffalo will take a few deep shots to keep the Chiefs honest,
but it’s not enough to elicit faith in Cooper right now.
London has been a solid WR1 this season, but draws the attention
of all-world corner Pat Surtain III this week. Surtain and the
Denver secondary has allowed just a single receiver to pass 100-yards
this season, and have only yielded six touchdowns to receivers.
I sense a heavy ground game plan for the Falcons which will also
limit London’s opportunities. You can’t sit him, but
temper expectations.
Colts Receivers @ NYJ
Surprisingly the Colts have pivoted back to Anthony Richardson
after dropping two straight with Joe Flacco at the helm. Though
Old Joe didn’t deliver wins, he did make most of the Colts
receivers rosterable in fantasy. That all falls apart with Richardson
back. This downgrades Josh Downs to a shaky WR3, and the rest
back to the bench. Unless the young buck figures it out, this
passing game is dire straits.
