Wilson has taken over as the main man in Miami’s run game leaving
the scraps for Raheem Mostert. Wilson is averaging 19.3 FPts/G
to Mostert’s 13.7. Meanwhile, Houston allows the most fantasy
points to opposing running backs in the league (31 FPts/G). Their
vulnerability to the run and a likely positive game-script for
the opposing team with a big lead, means a big day for Wilson.
Leonard Fournette’s injured hip and White’s emergence as a running
back means the youngster is the starter and in line for a big
game against a Browns’ run defense yielding the second-most points
(30.3). The 30 points-a-game includes a league-worst 16 touchdowns
(13 rushing, three receiving) to opposing running backs.
Conner struggled against the 49ers defense, but that’s not unusual.
Still, he saw 16 touches and managed 54 yards. The Chargers’ run
defense is much worse than San Francisco’s and allows 28.3 FPts/G
(49ers are at 17.4). Things should open up for Conner, particularly
if Marquise Brown returns to the lineup and along with DeAndre
Hopkins stretching the defense.
Cook has been solid this season, but every once in a while the
Vikings forget how talented he is and get pass-happy. Last weekend
was one of those weeks and Cook saw just 11 touches. Now, he faces
a Patriots’ run defense which is ranked No. 1 allowing just
16.1 FPts/G. New England has allowed just one rushing touchdown
to backs all season and no runner has cracked 20 fantasy points
against Bill Belichick’s defense. Cook is still a must start
in season-long leagues, but DFS players should avoid him here.
As with Cook, it’s hard to sit Kamara for season-long leagues,
but this is another tough matchup for Kamara. Kamara’s season-long
production numbers are skewed by a 42.8-point day in Week 8, otherwise
he’s not been great this season (13.5 FPts/G). The Saints
appear to be getting Taysom Hill more involved in the offense
and that too, will hurt Kamara’s fantasy value.
Chubb is the third star running back with a rough matchup in
Week 12. The Bucs have allowed just 17.9 FPts/G and only one back
has cracked the 20-point mark against them (Clyde Edwards-Helaire
in Week 4). Most owners must start Chubb, just don’t expect
him to carry your team this weekend.
