The Jaguars’ pass defense is one of the worst in the league.
They have yielded the second-most passing yards (1,494) and the
third-most passing touchdowns (10). Meanwhile, Williams has thrown
for 300 or-more yards in two of the last three games and hasn’t
thrown an interception since Week 3. Hot player versus cold defense.
The Bengals very yielding defense is allowing opposing QBs to
average 23.4 FPts/G which ranks 28th in the league. Jones is coming
off a solid effort on the road in Seattle (24.7 fantasy points)
and has cracked 20 points in three of his last four games. Watch
to see if rookie sensation Malik Nabers (concussion) is practicing
for a potential return in Week 6.
The middle-of-the-road Dallas defense is likely to still be without
two of their best, Micah Parsons (high ankle sprain) and DeMarcus
Lawrence (foot) leaving them vulnerable to a good passing game.
The Lions can both run the ball behind David Montgomery and Jahmyr
Gibbs and throw the ball with Amon-Ra St. Brown, Sam LaPorta and
speedster Jameson Williams. Goff’s play-action passing game
should work like a charm.
Allen had a couple of huge games early on, but his last two have
been clunkers. Less than 12 points against Baltimore and just
16 points against Houston leaves his fantasy owners wondering
“which is the ‘real’ Allen” for 2024.
The No.1 fantasy quarterback of 2023 had four touchdown passes
and four interceptions in two games against the Jets last season.
I’m not expecting him to produce a big game given his current
mindset unless his best wideout Khalil Shakir (ankle) returns
to the field, but given it’s a Monday game, Shakir will
have an extra day to get better. The Jets defense has allowed
just two touchdown passes in the first five games and the second-fewest
passing yards (806).
The Titans defense has yet to allow 210 yards passing in any
game this season. They allowed Aaron Rodgers just 176 yards and
Caleb Williams 93 yards. If Richardson (oblique) gets the start
or even if veteran Flacco stays the starter this is a matchup
to avoid. Of the two, Flacco would be better for the Colts receivers,
but I’m probably skipping this game entirely.
Herbert has two things going against him – a head coach
who limits his passing attempts and facing an elite pass defense
in the Broncos secondary. The Denver defense has faced Geno Smith,
Baker Mayfield, Justin Fields, Aaron Rodgers and Gardner Minshew
and is allowing just 15.6 FPts/G. Only one of those managed to
crack 200 yards (Rodgers) and none of them threw more than one
touchdown pass. Herbert averages just 22.75 passes per game and
has yet to crack the 200-yard mark. Only the Chargers running
backs are fantasy-worthy here.
