The Commanders have allowed a league-high 10 touchdown receptions
to opposing wideouts and Flowers is the best the Ravens have.
They are also top-10 in defending opposing tight ends which the
Ravens frequently use near the goal line. Therefore I’m
expecting Flowers to get into the end zone at least once. Flowers
also leads the team in receiving yards (269) so add a score or
two to his yards and you should have a big day.
Before, I recommended the Bears quarterback and now I’m recommending
one of his receivers. D.J. Moore (27-294-3) will get his share,
but I think the rookie Odunze is in for a solid day as well. He’s
been better than veteran Keenan Allen and is ready to be the No.2
guy opposite Moore in the Chicago offense. The Jaguars have allowed
a league-worst 1,052 receiving yards to wideouts and Rome will
get his fair share.
The Eagles pass defense has been horrible this season. No pass
rush and very little to like in the secondary aside from rookie
Quinyon Mitchell. I think the Cleveland version of Deshaun Watson
is a very poor quarterback and think Jameis Winston should get
a shot, but in the meantime, Watson forces the ball to Cooper
more often than not. Cooper is 20-208-2 even after an 80-yard
touchdown pass was called back by a phantom flag in the Giants
game and if anyone can produce in this ugly Browns offense it
is Cooper.
Wilson is a very good player, but he’s headed into a divisional
showdown with a Bills’ pass defense which has yet to allow a receiver
to score 16 fantasy points. That includes having played the league’s
leading receiver in yards - Nico Collins (567). They also held
Marvin Harrison Jr. in the season opener to 1.4 fantasy points
and Tyreek Hill, Jaylen Waddle and rookie sensation Brian Thomas
Jr. under 10 points. The Bills have allowed only two touchdowns
to wideouts all year and if Aaron Rodgers throws one it is twice
as likely to go to his buddy Allen Lazard than Wilson. I know
most of you will still start Wilson anyway, just don’t expect
big results.
Johnston has scored a team-high three times this season, but
that’s on just 18 targets. It’s hard to continually
be fantasy-worthy with so few chances. Add in the likelihood he
sees a lot of Patrick Surtain on the other side of the line and
he should be avoided in Week 6.
Kirk is a good receiver (21-257-1), but it must be clear to everyone
by now that Brian Thomas Jr. (22-397-3) is the new sheriff in
town. The Bears defense ranks seventh-best (25.8 FPts/G) so it
is unlikely that both Thomas and Kirk can go big at the same time.
Through five games, the Bears secondary has allowed two double-digit
games to opposing receivers in the same game one time.
