Finding value is the cornerstone of building elite daily fantasy
lineups. Value plays allow you to mix in studs you can rely on
for both consistency and a high ceiling. It's a sound strategy
to start with value first when constructing the perfect combination
of players.
Last week we found out
that negative correlation is not as important in regards to RB
and WR from the same team as we once thought. My primary cash
lineup included both Antonio
Brown and DeAngelo
Williams because I felt it was a unique situation where both
players could hit value; similar to weeks this year where Julio
Jones and Devonta
Freeman have been viable in the same lineup. It was obviously
a great week for me in cash games and I even won a championship
ticket in a qualifier. Let's keep this positive momentum as we
enter Week 10. Here are my favorite value plays for cash games
on FanDuel. Be sure and check back for an updated cash lineup
Sunday morning.
He seems to be in this article every week but the reality is
his numbers are very similar to that of Cooks, and his price is
cheaper. Drew Brees has been on a tear as of late and I expect
Snead to be heavily involved. Cooks has had a few fluke touchdowns
and I do not expect tight end Ben Watson's production to continue
at this pace. Snead will face a Redskins defense in Week 10 that
is much stronger against the run than against the pass.
With the injury to Dion Lewis it is safe to lock in Blount for
18-20 carries weekly in arguably the leagues’ best offense.
This week in particular the New York Giants have a lot of injuries
at the linebacker position and New England could use Blount as
an absolute battering ram to soften up this defense. He will always
be a multi-touchdown threat and at this price is solid value in
cash games in a game with the highest team total (30.75) of the
week according to Vegas lines.
Blake Bortles has been surprisingly impressive in his improvement
this season. He has two wide receivers that have already eclipsed
600 yards and has a decent floor with his rushing ability. In
five of his last six games he has at least 30 yards on the ground.
This game against Baltimore has the ability to turn into a shootout
and I am not comfortable with the running game options on either
team. Playing Bortles in cash opens up your lineup and is a route
I will strongly be considering this week.
Staying on the call that the Jacksonville/Baltimore game could
be a shootout, I love Kamar Aiken this week. He has been impressive
in games Steve Smith has been out and he is criminally underpriced
on FanDuel. Quarterback Joe Flacco will have to throw in this
game to keep up with Jacksonville and I expect Aiken to make some
big plays for this offense and be heavily targeted.
Matthew Stafford could easily throw 40 times in the matchup against
Green Bay. They will most likely be behind and Calvin Johnson
is banged up. Eric Ebron will pick up the slack and be targeted
a lot in Week 10. Year two for tight ends is historically much
better than year one and Ebron has been relatively consistent.
He has at least three targets in every game this season and Green
Bay’s defense has been oozing points as of late. At his
salary, I have no problem with Ebron as a solid value play this
week.
Green Bay is a home favorite, a stat you should always look for
when choosing a running back for the week. Eddie Lacy (groin)
is expected to play but in a limited capacity. This situation
seems more and more like the Giovani Bernard and Jeremy Hill situation
in Cincinnati every week as Starks has clearly been the more effective
back. The Packers head coach seems to recognize this and has named
Starks the lead back over the struggling Lacy giving Starks a
clear path to fantasy success in Week 10.
Jones has been an inconsistent fantasy option this season as
Andy Dalton and the Bengals have an embarrassment of riches in
the passing game. Jones does a great job stretching the field
but volume remains an issue. This week against Houston, he faces
a team that is second worst in the league for 20-plus-yard passing
plays. This is an area where Jones shines and for his price, may
be a better $/point value than A.J. Green.
Reed got in the end zone last week but was held largely in check
by the Patriots defense. His salary makes him very much in play
this week against the Saints who bleed points to everyone. Reed
is due for a bounce back performance and Week 10 feels like a
week where he will see high volume. He is totally viable as a
standalone fantasy asset and it’s not necessary to pair
him with Kirk Cousins although that will be the popular play in
tournaments. Cousins ceiling is extremely low and he only has
one game this year with multiple TDs and he has six games under
13 fantasy points.
