Denver: With two straight victories the Broncos have climbed to 5-5… a record that would put you two games behind the leader in any other AFC division but in the AFC West, it's good for first place. The Broncos got their offense rolling against Tennessee last week and may get Javon Walker back in the mix this week against the Bears. Walker practiced Wednesday for the first times since having knee surgery on October 19th. His status is still uncertain, as is the status of running backs Travis Henry and Selvin Young both of which are bothered by knee injuries. Never fear, the Broncos can plug in Andre Hall and away they go.
Start: WR Brandon Marshall
Consider: QB Jay Cutler, WR Brandon Stokley, K Jason Elam, RB Selvin Young (inj)
Sit: TE Tony Scheffler, WR Javon Walker, TE Daniel Graham
Chicago: Rex Grossman got the start for the Bears last week but another loss has head coach Lovie Smith pondering the quarterback position again. Grossman or Griese likely won't make a difference as these two teams appear to be headed in opposite directions. The Bears have lost two out of their last three while the Broncos are coming off wins over Tennessee and Kansas City. Wide receiver Bernard Berrian has seen his numbers improve the last two weeks with Grossman under center, catching 13 passes for 191 yards and 1 TD.
Start: WR Bernard Berrian, RB Cedric Benson, Bears D/ST
Consider: WR Muhsin Muhammad, TE Greg Olsen
Sit: TE Desmond Clark QB Brian Griese, WR Devin Hester, K Robbie Gould
Note: Team statistics are shown as the average per game
through Weeks 6 to 11 of the 2007 season after deducting the best
and worst value from the data set. The exception is yards per rush attempt, completion %, yards per
pass completion, yards per pass attempt and the NFL averages, which are each calculated based on
totals through Weeks 6 to 11 with no adjustment.
