Predicted Score: Packers 24, Lions 20
Green Bay: Another week, another Packers victory. Favre and company took care of the Panthers with relative ease in Week 11 and now on a short week face the Lions in the traditional turkey-day contest at Detroit. Green Bay's offense has been nothing short of spectacular the last four games. Favre's completion rate has topped the 70% mark while averaging 2.5 passing touchdowns in wins against Denver, Kansas City, Minnesota, and Carolina. The emergence of Ryan Grant has given them enough balance on offense to keep defenses honest and both phases should be in full swing against the Lions who rank in the bottom third against the run and the pass. Only silly Favre turnovers will prevent Green Bay from improving to 10-1.
- Start: QB Brett Favre, WR Greg Jennings, WR Donald Driver, Packers D/ST, TE Donald Lee, K Mason Crosby
- Consider: RB Ryan Grant, WR James Jones
- Sit: RB Vernand Morency
Detroit: Despite 377 yards from Jon Kitna, Detroit dropped to 6-4 by losing to the Giants and face an uphill climb to keep their playoff hopes alive. With Green Bay on the schedule twice and meetings against Dallas and San Diego upcoming, the pass-happy Lions are looking for answers. With Kevin Jones gaining a grand total of 21 yards on the ground the last two games, the running attack has all but disappeared. And the defense, while opportunistic, is giving up yardage and sacks to everyone and everybody. This team, for all its offensive talent is mistake-prone and too unbalanced to compete with the upper echelon teams in the NFC.
- Start: QB Jon Kitna, WR Roy Williams, WR Shaun McDonald
- Consider: WR Calvin Johnson, WR Mike Furrey
- Sit: RB Kevin Jones, Lions D/ST
