Usage Notes: Divisional Round

By Mike Krueger | Updated: 1/20/25

Each week, I’ll look at snaps, usage, touches, target shares and pull out the highlights you need to know from each game.

BAL | BUF | DET | HOU | KC | LAR | PHI | WAS

Baltimore

Offensive Snaps: 59

RB Derrick Henry: 35 snaps (59.3%), 53.3% rush share, 8.0% tgt share
RB Justice Hill: 24 snaps (40.7%), 20.0% rush share, 8.0% tgt share

A slow start for Heny (16-84-1), but he picked it up in the second half. Hill (6-50-0, 2-7-0) had a nice game breaking off numerous chunk runs.

WR Rashod Bateman: 37 snaps (62.7%), 20.0% tgt share
WR Tylan Wallace: 29 snaps (49.2%), 4.0% tgt share
WR Nelson Agholor: 26 snaps (44.1%), 4.0% tgt share
WR Anthony Miller: 8 snaps (13.6%), 4.0% tgt share
WR Steven Sims: 6 snaps (10.2%), 4.0% tgt share
WR Devontez Walker: 1 snap (1.7%), 0.0% tgt share

Zay Flowers was Inactive. The Ravens killed themselves with turnovers (3) and mistakes (dropped two-point conversion) and still lost by just 2 points.

TE Isaiah Likely: 47 snaps (79.7%), 20.0% tgt share
TE Mark Andrews: 41 snaps (69.5%), 28.0% tgt share
TE Charlie Kolar: 12 snaps (20.3%), 0.0% tgt share

Andrews (5-61-0) and Likely (4-73-1) combined for 12 targets. The fumble and dropped two two-point conversion from Andrews are going to bother him for a long time.

Buffalo

Offensive Snaps: 61

RB James Cook: 32 snaps (52.5%), 47.2% rush share, 14.3% tgt share
RB Ty Johnson: 21 snaps (34.4%), 13.9% rush share, 4.8% tgt share
RB Ray Davis: 6 snaps (9.8%), 11.1% rush share, 0.0% tgt share

The Bills continue to use all three of their running backs with Cook (17-67-0, 3-15-0) operating in the lead back role. Davis (4-29-1) got a goaline TD.

WR Khalil Shakir: 41 snaps (67.2%), 33.3% tgt share
WR Keon Coleman: 40 snaps (65.6%), 4.8% tgt share
WR Mack Hollins: 32 snaps (52.5%), 9.5% tgt share
WR Amari Cooper: 21 snaps (34.4%), 4.8% tgt share
WR Curtis Samuel: 19 snaps (31.1%), 9.5% tgt share

Just 22 pass attempts from Josh Allen. Much like Hopkins in Kansas City, Cooper (1 tgt) is playing a minimal role in the offense. Shakir led the team with 7 targets.

TE Dawson Knox: 35 snaps (57.4%), 9.5% tgt share
TE Dalton Kincaid: 31 snaps (50.8%), 9.5% tgt share
TE Quintin Morris: 3 snaps (4.9%), 0.0% tgt share

Kincaid (1-11-0) and Knox (1-0-0) combined for just 4 targets.

Detroit

Offensive Snaps: 69

RB Jahmyr Gibbs: 52 snaps (75.4%), 60.9% rush share, 28.2% tgt share
RB David Montgomery: 17 snaps (24.6%), 30.4% rush share, 0.0% tgt share
RB Craig Reynolds: 1 snap (1.4%), 0.0% rush share, 0.0% tgt share

76 points scored between the Lions and Commanders. This was Montgomery’s first game since injuring his knee in Week 15. Montgomery (8 touches) didn’t have his normal role as the Lions were playing from behind most of the game. Gibbs (20 touches) was spectacular as usual, racking up 175 yards and 2 TDs.

WR Amon-Ra St. Brown: 66 snaps (95.7%), 25.6% tgt share
WR Jameson Williams: 61 snaps (88.4%), 10.3% tgt share
WR Tim Patrick: 30 snaps (43.5%), 10.3% tgt share
WR Kalif Raymond: 29 snaps (42.0%), 7.7% tgt share

3 interceptions from Goff helped end the Lions season early. Typical snap shares for the Detroit wideouts. ARSB (8-137-0) led them with 10 targets. Just 1 catch for Jamo on 4 targets.

TE Sam LaPorta: 67 snaps (97.1%), 17.9% tgt share
TE Brock Wright: 17 snaps (24.6%), 0.0% tgt share
TE Shane Zylstra: 3 snaps (4.3%), 0.0% tgt share

LaPorta (6-51-1) finished the season strong after a slow start.

Houston

Offensive Snaps: 68

RB Joe Mixon: 36 snaps (52.9%), 62.1% rush share, 10.7% tgt share
RB Dare Ogunbowale: 21 snaps (30.9%), 3.4% rush share, 3.6% tgt share
RB Dameon Pierce: 14 snaps (20.6%), 13.8% rush share, 3.6% tgt share

A solid game for Mixon (18-88-1, 2-12-0) against a defense that gave up the fewest fantasy points to running backs during the season. Pierce and Dare combined for 6 touches.

WR Nico Collins: 56 snaps (82.4%), 28.6% tgt share
WR Xavier Hutchinson: 42 snaps (61.8%), 21.4% tgt share
WR John Metchie: 39 snaps (57.4%), 7.1% tgt share
WR Jared Wayne: 24 snaps (35.3%), 7.1% tgt share
WR Robert Woods: 6 snaps (8.8%), 0.0% tgt share

Zero passing TDs for Stroud (245-0-0) who was sacked 8 times. Nico (5-81-0) led the team in targets with 8. Hutchinson was second on the team in targets with 6… a testament to Houston’s injury problems at wide receiver.

TE Dalton Schultz: 53 snaps (77.9%), 14.3% tgt share
TE Irv Smith: 21 snaps (30.9%), 3.6% tgt share

Schultz caught all of his targets (4) for 63 yards.

Kansas City

Offensive Snaps: 51

RB Kareem Hunt: 24 snaps (47.1%), 36.4% rush share, 4.2% tgt share
RB Isiah Pacheco: 16 snaps (31.4%), 22.7% rush share, 4.2% tgt share
RB Samaje Perine: 11 snaps (21.6%), 0.0% rush share, 4.2% tgt share
RB Carson Steele: 3 snaps (5.9%), 0.0% rush share, 0.0% tgt share

Just 51 plays for the Chiefs offense as Houston had a long drive in the third quarter which helped them win the time of possession battle. Pacheco (5-18-0) has not returned to form since his leg injury early in the season. Hunt (8-44-1, 1-2-0) should get the majority of touches next week against the Bills.

WR Xavier Worthy: 42 snaps (82.4%), 25.0% tgt share
WR Marquise Brown: 34 snaps (66.7%), 8.3% tgt share
WR JuJu Smith-Schuster: 21 snaps (41.2%), 4.2% tgt share
WR DeAndre Hopkins: 16 snaps (31.4%), 4.2% tgt share
WR Justin Watson: 4 snaps (7.8%), 0.0% tgt share

Hopkins (1 target) continues to have a minimal role in the offense as the Chiefs use five receivers. We might see more of him next week if the Chiefs are in a negative game script. Worthy (5-45-0) led the wideouts with 6 targets.

TE Travis Kelce: 39 snaps (76.5%), 33.3% tgt share
TE Noah Gray: 29 snaps (56.9%), 12.5% tgt share
TE Peyton Hendershot: 14 snaps (27.5%), 0.0% tgt share

Kelce (7-117-1) led the team with 8 targets and has his best fantasy game of the season. He led all tight ends this week with a 33.3% target share.

LA Rams

Offensive Snaps: 71

RB Kyren Williams: 71 snaps (100.0%), 90.5% rush share, 4.5% tgt share

Kyren (19-106-0, 1-(-1)-0) was the only Rams running back to play a snap in this game. He led all running backs this week with a 90.5% rush share.

WR Cooper Kupp: 68 snaps (95.8%), 15.9% tgt share
WR Demarcus Robinson: 64 snaps (90.1%), 15.9% tgt share
WR Puka Nacua: 63 snaps (88.7%), 31.8% tgt share
WR Jordan Whittington: 11 snaps (15.5%), 2.3% tgt share
WR Tutu Atwell: 2 snaps (2.8%), 2.3% tgt share

Nacua (6-97-0) seemed to be bothered by a rib issue during this game. It didn’t stop him from leading the team in targets (14). Kupp (5-61-0) and Robinson (3-74-0) both had 7 targets.

TE Tyler Higbee: 58 snaps (81.7%), 22.7% tgt share
TE Davis Allen: 7 snaps (9.9%), 0.0% tgt share
TE Hunter Long: 6 snaps (8.5%), 0.0% tgt share
TE Colby Parkinson: 4 snaps (5.6%), 4.5% tgt share

Higbee (7-54-1) injured his chest last week but had 10 targets against the Eagles as Stafford threw the ball 44 times during snowy conditions.

A.J. Brown

Philadelphia

Offensive Snaps: 63

RB Saquon Barkley: 57 snaps (90.5%), 76.5% rush share, 20.0% tgt share
RB Kenneth Gainwell: 6 snaps (9.5%), 2.9% rush share, 5.0% tgt share

Barkley (26-205-2, 4-27-0) notched his second 200-yard rushing game of the season. Incredible.

WR A.J. Brown: 61 snaps (96.8%), 35.0% tgt share
WR DeVonta Smith: 57 snaps (90.5%), 20.0% tgt share
WR Jahan Dotson: 39 snaps (61.9%), 0.0% tgt share
WR Johnny Wilson: 8 snaps (12.7%), 0.0% tgt share

Just 20 pass attempts from Hurts (128-0-0, 7-70-1). Why throw the ball when you have Barkley? 7 targets for Brown but just 2 catches for 14 yards. He led all wide receivers this week with a 35.0% target share.

TE Dallas Goedert: 60 snaps (95.2%), 20.0% tgt share
TE Grant Calcaterra: 22 snaps (34.9%), 0.0% tgt share
TE E.J. Jenkins: 3 snaps (4.8%), 0.0% tgt share

A respectable game from Goedert (4-56-0) considering the low passing volume for the Eagles.

Washington

Offensive Snaps: 76

RB Brian Robinson Jr.: 40 snaps (53.3%), 35.7% rush share, 0.0% tgt share
RB Austin Ekeler: 28 snaps (37.3%), 14.3% rush share, 13.8% tgt share
RB Jeremy McNichols: 13 snaps (17.3%), 9.5% rush share, 0.0% tgt share

Jayden Daniels ran the ball 16 times. This was Robinson’s (15-77-2) best fantasy game since Week 13 against the Titans. Ekeler (6-47-0, 4-41-0) racked up 88 yards on just 10 touches.

WR Terry McLaurin: 70 snaps (93.3%), 20.7% tgt share
WR Dyami Brown: 62 snaps (82.7%), 27.6% tgt share
WR Olamide Zaccheaus: 33 snaps (44.0%), 6.9% tgt share
WR Jamison Crowder: 30 snaps (40.0%), 6.9% tgt share
WR Luke McCaffrey: 8 snaps (10.7%), 0.0% tgt share

McLaurin (4-87-1) scored on a 58-yard bubble screen. Dyami (6-98-0) led the team with 8 targets.

TE Zach Ertz: 51 snaps (68.0%), 17.2% tgt share
TE John Bates: 35 snaps (46.7%), 6.9% tgt share
TE Ben Sinnott: 3 snaps (4.0%), 0.0% tgt share

Ertz (5-28-1) caught all of his targets.
