Game Preview
Mike Krueger
Predicted Score: Titans 23, Raiders 17
Tennessee: Despite giving up 29 points in the fourth quarter the Titans pulled out a victory against Houston last week without the services of quarterback Vince Young. Kerry Collins led the team to their highest point total of the season (38) but head coach Jeff Fisher said he expected Young (thigh) to return to practice this week and play against the Raiders. You should see a heavy dose of LenDale White in this game with Chris Brown still recovering from a sprained ankle. Rookie Chris Henry made an appearance last week (11 carries, 57 yds) and will provide a one-two rushing punch as the Titans passing game with Young ranks in the bottom third of the league. Leave the Titans receivers and tight ends on your bench but expect Tennessee to win the game.
- Start: RB LenDale White
- Consider: TE Bo Scaife Titans D/ST, WR Roydell Williams
- Sit: QB Vince Young, RB Chris Brown, WR Brandon Jones, TE Ben Troupe, WR Eric Moulds
Oakland: The Raiders running game has gone kaput since Week 4 when they led the league, averaging 194 yards per game. Since then, LaMont Jordan has been in and out of the lineup with back problems and Dominic Rhodes has yet to provide a spark. Teams are stacking the line forcing Daunte Culpepper to make plays, which has been unable to do on a consistent basis. And now the Raiders face another good defense this week in Tennessee, which ranks first against the run. Expect another loss and the cries for JaMarcus Russell to begin.
