Predicted Score: Eagles 13, Vikings 10
Minnesota: QB Tarvaris Jackson did not attempt a pass during practice on Wednesday and will likely give way to Kelly Holcomb for this Sunday's game against the Eagles. Jackson is wearing a splint on his fractured index finger at all times when he's not on the field. Would wearing the splint on the field help the Vikings passing game? It certainly couldn't hurt. Minnesota ranks 30th in passing offense and has a grand total of three passing touchdowns. So expect Adrian Peterson left, AD right, and Chester Taylor up the middle all day. Of course, the Eagles know this as well, which makes stopping the Vikings offense as simple as bringing the eighth man (Brian Dawkins) into the box.
- Start: RB Adrian Peterson
- Consider: RB Chester Taylor, TE Visanthe Shiancoe
- Sit: QB Tarvaris Jackson WR Troy Williamson, WR Bobby Wade, WR Sidney Rice
Philadelphia: The Eagles find themselves at the bottom of the NFC East after a 19-16 loss to the Bears last week and in need of a serious win. It's been the lack of offense that's hurt them, specifically the passing game, which outside of the 56 point-game against the Lions has only three passing touchdowns for their effort. Kevin Curtis and Reggie Brown are having a hard time separating from coverage and McNabb's security blanket, L.J. Smith, still isn't healthy. Brian Westbrook continues to do his thing and remains the focal point of the offense, which can be enough for a win against team that also struggles to move the ball through the air.
- Start: RB Brian Westbrook
- Consider: QB Donovan McNabb, WR Kevin Curtis
- Sit: WR Reggie Brown, TE L.J. Smith (inj), TE Matt Schobel, Eagles-D/ST
