Game Preview

Predicted Score: Bears 21, Chiefs 17
Chicago: The Bears offense struggled last week against a good San Diego defense but honestly this may be a recurring theme throughout the season. Cedric Benson has yet to prove himself as standout runner in the league and Rex Grossman possess mediocre skills as a QB. There's no doubting the Bears defense and special teams, which turned in a huge season in '06, but repeating their astounding numbers from a year ago will be a tough task. Grossman missed badly on throws to Berrian and Muhammad last week (admittedly one was completely Berrian's fault for running the wrong route) but Chicago will need more consistent play from their QB if they want to return to the playoffs in '07.
- Start: QB Rex Grossman, RB Cedric Benson, WR Bernard Berrian, TE Desmond Clark, Bears D/ST,
- Consider: WR Muhsin Muhammad, K Robbie Gould
- Sit:TE Greg Olsen, WR Devin Hester
Kansas City: The Chiefs dug their own grave last week with turnovers and missed field goals, something this low-powered offense cannot do. Compounding problems is the loss of WR Eddie Kennison who injured his hamstring on the first play from scrimmage. Dwayne Bowe and Samie Parker will attempt to fill the void. RB Larry Johnson only received 10 carries against Houston but that will change this week as two teams meet with punch-less offenses, housing the majority of their teams' talent on the defensive side of the ball. Expect Johnson to have 25 touches by games end. Chicago has the better "D" giving them the advantage but don't surprised if this game is closer than most think.
- Start: RB Larry Johnson, TE Tony Gonzalez
- Consider: QB Damon Huard, WR Samie Parker, WR Dwayne Bowe
- Sit:WR Jeff Webb, K Dave Rayner
