Game Preview
Mike Krueger
Predicted Score: Lions 21, Vikings 17
Minnesota: Chester Taylor left in the first quarter of last week's game with a "contusion to the oblique" which will likely limit him in this week's game against Detroit. No problem, bring on the rook. Adrian Peterson made his fantasy owners happy by busting a screen pass 60-yds for a TD and rolling up 100+ rushing yards against the Falcons. Expect to see a whole lot more of Peterson this week as Tarvaris Jackson and the passing game continues to look out of synch with no receiver gaining over 30 yds. The Lions pass defense is suspect and does provide a decent matchup but only if Derek Anderson is your current starting QB.
- Start: RB Adrian Peterson, TE Visanthe Shiancoe
- Consider: QB Tarvaris Jackson
- Sit:RB Chester Taylor (inj), WR Troy Williamson, WR Bobby Wade, WR Sidney Rice
Detroit: How much do we love Mike Martz as fantasy owners? He also makes our lives miserable as now every Detroit wide receiver looks like a good play this week against the Vikes. Roy Williams, Mike Furrey, Calvin Johnson, and Shaun McDonald were all targeted at least 6 times last week, with only Furrey shut out of the TD celebrations. Tatum Bell had a good first week as well, rushing 15 times for 87 yds and 1 score. RB T.J. Duckett suffered a sprained ankle in last week's game and will likely be inactive Week 2 giving Bell the lions-share of the carries against Minnesota.
- Start: QB Jon Kitna, WR Roy Williams, WR Calvin Johnson
- Consider: RB Tatum Bell, WR Mike Furrey, WR Shaun McDonald, Lions D/ST
- Sit:TE Dan Campbell
