Game Preview
Mike Krueger
Predicted Score: Falcons 20, Texans 17
Texans: Houston is devastated by injuries on offense with RB Ahman Green (knee), RB Ron Dayne (ribs), WR Andre Johnson (knee), WR Jacoby Jones (shouler) and Andre Davis (finger) all listed on the injury report. Johnson and Jones are out leaving Kevin Walter and Davis staring at wide receiver. Ahman Green has swelling on his injured knee and looks to be a gametime decision. If he can't go, Ron Dayne will get the start, who should be back after sitting out last week with bruised ribs. Whew… what a mess. Houston may be a better team, but this looks like a good spot for the Falcons to finally get a mark in the win column.
- Start: TE Owen Daniels
- Consider: RB Ron Dayne, QB Matt Schaub, WR Andre Davis, WR Kevin Walter
- Sit: RB Ahman Green (inj), WR Andre Johnson (inj) WR Jacoby Jones (inj)
Atlanta: The Falcons showed some life last week against the Panthers. Joey Harrington topped the 300-yd mark and Roddy White notched his third 100-yd game of his career. The Falcons still lost and appear to be one of the worst teams in the league. However, parity runs rampant in the NFL and nobody be surprised if they get their first win against a 2-1 Texans team that is riddled with injuries. Expect the Falcons to control the game on the ground with Dunn leading the charge. Norwood still remains a backup, averaging nine touches per game.
- Start: TE Alge Crumpler
- Consider: RB Warrick Dunn, RB Jerious Norwood, WR Roddy White
- Sit: QB Joey Harrington, WR Joe Horn, WR Michael Jenkins
