Predicted Score: Cowboys 31, Rams 17
Dallas: The Cowboys have staked their claim as the best team in the NFC after a 34-10 butt-kicking of the Chicago Bears. The Dallas offense is clicking on all cylinders, scoring a league-best 116 points and making fantasy stars out of Tony Romo, Terrell Owens, Marion Barber, and Jason Witten in the process. It's "Injury Week" in the NFL and the Rams are playing the part to rave reviews. As a result, this should be an easy victory at home for the "boys" at home; or a bookies' dream if the Rams do the unthinkable and pull an upset.
- Start: QB Tony Romo, RB Marion Barber, WR Terrell Owens, TE Jason Witten, Cowboys D/ST
- Consider: RB Julius Jones
- Sit: WR Patrick Crayton, WR Terry Glenn (inj)
St. Louis: The Rams meanwhile are 0-3 and face a monumental task of beating the Cowboys without their best player. Running back Steven Jackson will be out for a period of time with a partial tear of his left groin. A partial tear? What the heck does that mean? The Rams have declared Jackson out only for this week but this sounds suspiciously like a multi-week injury. Rookie Brian Leonard will get the start but will struggle to find success behind an offensive line that's lost Orlando Pace and now G Mark Setterstrom for the season with a torn left knee ligament and cartilage damage. Making matters worse, QB Marc Bulger is playing with two broken ribs and ranks 26th in NFL passer rating? Coincindence? I think not. Stranger things have happened, but if the Rams win this game, I'll turn my stereo up to eleven and play Barry Manilow and Nickelback… for eight straight hours.
- Start: WR Torry Holt
- Consider: RB Brian Leonard, WR Isaac Bruce, QB Marc Bulger
- Sit: RB Steven Jackson (inj), TE Randy McMichael, K Jeff Wilkins, WR Drew Bennett
